Phillyburbs - Head football coach Mark Schmidt has been suspended for one game by the Neshaminy School District as a result of an incident at last Friday night’s Neshaminy-Council Rock South game. Last Friday night during the CR-South game, Schmidt came on to the field and grabbed a Neshaminy player by the jersey after that player committed an unsportsmanlike conduct foul that resulted in a penalty, sources said. During his tenure at Neshaminy, Schmidt has led the Redskins to six conference titles and to two District One championships. In 2001 he guided Neshaminy to a 15-0 season and the Pennsylvania Class AAAA state title. He has won more games than any coach in Neshaminy history, with a career record of 144-62.

Wait what? I’ve read this story 10 times. Where is the part about why the coach got suspended? All I see is that he grabbed a player by a shirt after the player got a personal foul penalty. Then what happened? Did he slap him in the face? Did he take a hunk of mud and shove it down his throat? What? I just refuse to believe a high school football coach can be suspended for grabbing a player by the shirt. Like I know that you can’t r tell a kid he screwed up or make them run laps or not start them or do anything that may hurt their feelings, but grab his shirt after committing a 15 yard penalty? Come on already. That’s what gets a coach suspended nowadays? We are so fucked.
