And the Pussification of America – NYC High Schools Banning Kids From Telling People They Got Into Ivy League Colleges So They Don’t Hurt Other People’s Feelings
NY Post - Accepted to Harvard? Shhh, don’t tell anyone! In an attempt to ease the blow of a student’s first big rejection, New York prep schools are instituting dress codes and Facebook guidelines barring excited seniors from broadcasting their acceptance to top-tier colleges because it would hurt their classmates’ feelings. At the hyper-competitive Horace Mann School, students are not permitted to wear college apparel, including status Ivy League sweatshirts, on campus until after May 1, when most students have settled on what school they’ll attend. And at the Packer Collegiate Institute, students are instructed not to update Facebook with university news until after school lets out. “It can be bad and it can get weird,” said Darby McHugh, college coordinator at Bronx HS of Science. “We send a notice out to all faculty telling them, ‘Please don’t congratulate students in public, no high fives, no hugging, and please be sensitive so that if you see someone crying, you refer them to the college-adviser office immediately.’ ”
“Well I got news for you Mr. Brown, you haven’t heard the last of me. You may think I’m shit now, but someday you’re gonna be sorry you cut me. I’m gonna catch on somewhere else and every time that I pitch against you I’m gonna stick it up you’re fuckin’ ass!”
I love it. Honestly how stupid are school administrators? Anybody with a brain knows the best thing in the world for somebody is rejection or defeat. That’s what makes you work harder. That’s what makes you want it more. That’s what makes you lift all them weights in the offseason. Being told by somebody that you ain’t good enough. Jordan not making his high school basketball team. Brady not getting drafted till the 7th round. People being told they are too small, too slow etc. Whatever the case may be rejection is the great motivator. It’s what fuels your fire to get better. If you protect kids from rejection all you are left with is a bunch of fat, complacent spoiled slobs who think they are the best at everything because nobody has ever told them different. The pussification of America continues indeed…

6th round
I guess my summer outfit of a UCONN t-shirt and American bandana tied around my head wouldn’t cut it?
wow i agree with you elpres, that is why i am going to be greatest commentor in the history the internet, next to Dro Man,dude is already in the hall of fame…
BD, you will never be close to Dro.
it’s like the dumb kids whose parents paid them for every B they managed to snag on a report card. Like congratulations, you’re barely better than average, you deserve a reward!
BD, you’ve already tried to be the best commentor under several different aliases and you failed miserably at it.
…I still do not regret going to a tech school
jesus that’s rough it’s like not being able to tell all your bros about the first time you got sucked off because your acne ridden asian friend is never gonna touch puss in his life and you don’t want to crush his dreams because he’ll be the kid who goes and shoots up another college campus
since when did schools have the right to enforce what students can or can’t say on a social networking website?
queefer, wtf are you talking about. asians don’t get acne
TB was drafted in the 6th round, ya jack ass
Stopping people from bragging that they’ll be straddled with 50K tution and tens of thousands in debt? Time for a reality check.
Asians 100% get acne. The dude I cheated off in high school math was asian whose face looked like the Himalayas smeared in movie popcorn butter.
Pres we keep telling you that you suck at blogging and you do nothing to improve you fat complacent snob
also does this mean that dro mans son can’t wear his dads school of hard knocks shirt to class now?
fuck that! One of the best parts of being accepted into the school you wanted, or a good school was the ability to tell the dumber kids to go fuck themselves.
Failure drives success. Every educational or professional failure I have had in life was a good lesson to learn how to do better in the future. The sting of being rejected from a IVY league college drove me to work harder in the good (yet, not Ivy League school) I did get into to.
Pussies. New Yorkers are pussies!
umm these kids are seniors with like a month of school left. id be telling everyone left and right. what the fuck are they going to do? you already got into your college of choice. are they going to write a letter to the college and say “well Tommy may not be right for your institution, he has been going around school bragging that he got into your school and it has been hurting the feelings of other students”? might be the first time a school ever rescinded an acceptance because the student was happy and told people he/she was going there…fucking pussification indeed
Darby McHugh? Is this guy serious
if Bill Gates never got shoved in a locker with his underwear wedged up his ass you think there’d be a Microsoft..fuck no
@Stro: That is easily the grossest thing I’ve ever read.
Thank God my high school didn’t have this rule, I was so proud to get into ITT Tech, I didn’t care what anyone said!
love the Major League reference. Charlie motherfucking Sheen!
@thekman – the schools the article refers to are all private. They can basically set whatever rules they want for their students (speech, dress, etc…) and the students must obey them. Don’t like it? Don’t pay the money to go there.
This rule is beyond retarded. A kid works his ass off to get into an Ivy League school – the dumbass slut who is going to the local community college should be required to give him head. Be the smartest thing that ever came in or out of her mouth.
@stro one of your best comments EVER, now we need another dro man joke
Andy’s pose is priceless
