harry my grandfather flew over berlin for over a year straight as a sergeant and didnt manage to get shot down and left all his planes practically unscathed. there are great pilots, GB wasnt one of them

@Fartinez: I appreciate your grandfather’s service, and it’s good that he came home in one piece. But calling a guy a shitty pilot because he got shot down is out of line. The Red Baron was one of, if not the best, pilot of WWI, and he was shot down. GHWB was later made an instructor, they don’t give that job to people who suck at flying/combat. Read “The Wild Blue” (granted, it’s about bombers) if you want to learn how dangerous being a WWII pilot was.
