I somehow didn’t order this fight. I ordered the first 3. Skipped this one because I was over it. So obviously by all acconts it was not only the best fight of the rivalry it was the best fight of the year and maybe the decade. Each guy knocking the other down before this epic 6th round knockout. twisted..ok, lets just go back the last decade..give me a MMA fight that match the Ward/Gatti or Corrales/Castillo ‘wars’..I watch MMA like the rest but you can’t beat top flight boxing for sheer excitement…in fact I would argue the old Pride fights with Wanderlei, Jackson and Hendersen in their prime were better than what UFC has to offer these days.

Robognome again it’s hard to compare the two, considering it was slightly more than ten years ago that old man McCain called the sport “human cock fighting” and it was banned in just about every state. Kind of tough to build as much around a much smaller organization. It continues to grow however, as evidenced by the large sponsors and cable tv deals, so it won’t be long before UFC fighters are household names, just as with boxing. Which is on the decline. Aside from one or two decent matchups between aging legends, there is very little to be excited about in boxing, where as the UfC puts on a good card just about every time they put on a show.

I really don’t understand how people hate on MMA but love boxing. MMA = boxing – gloves + kicking + wrestling + more KO’s. So how exactly is MMA worse? Sure it doesn’t have as many household names yet, but it is rapidly growing and will develop the big names.
