2. I’m as middle of the road as it gets, can’t stand any talking head on Fox News or MSNBC, but Paul Ryan is a fucking asshole. He’d completely fuck over the average working guy by taking away the capital gains tax (the tax rate rich people pay on investment income that’s far lower than the upper tax rate on income you always hear about them bitching about), lowering the upper tax bracket on standard income, and replacing that with an 8% sales tax. Now, as a percentage of income, the middle class spends far more of their income than wealthy people, who can save, because they have extra, so that 8% sales tax would fall far more on the middle class. Given that wealthy people by definition aren’t hurting financially, I’d say this is a mistake.
3. He’d have won Florida with Marco “Ricky” Rubio, and undone some of his damage with the Hispanic voters, but this will just rile the bases up on both sides, cancelling out any gains he made with the hardcore conservatives with the pick. Chump move on Romney’s part. I’d be pissed if I was still a Republican.

Capital gains tax is taxing money that has already been taxed, how is that fair. It discourages investment. The GOP wants to cut tax rates across the board, even liberal keynesian economists will tell you you dont raise taxes in a recession, as Obama said himself in ’09. 42 months of stagflation, 8.3% unemployment and about 15% “discouraged workers” aka unemployed people, we cant stand 4 more years of BHO. City- Obama’s never submitted the VAT to congress, Ryan has. It’s one thing to talk about an idea, it’s another to bring it to the table.

We need to slash budgets at every level, from the liberal clusterfucks like the NEA to conservative spending clusterfucks like the F22, but we also need to invest to replace decaying infrastructure, because those investments yield real practical returns, and in education, which also needs to ditch shit like tenure to remove terribaddy teachers protected by corrupt unions.
In short, I believed if everyone got off their fucking polemic high horses and worked on practical compromises, we’d all be a fuckton better off.

I also don’t disagree with you on social security and medicare topher. Defined benefit plans always run the risk of insolvency. I do think we need to find a way to unravel those shortly, but politicians don’t touch it, precisely because that shit is a third rail. In short, people want to pay no taxes while getting services and entitlements, and politicians have done just that, since they’re always running for re-election and not for governing. I’d love nothing more than hard term limits and true campaign finance reform at all levels, so the people elected to govern actually governed instead of consolidating power but it’ll never happen.

Which one isn’t terribly important, as they’re by and large the same: a bunch of boarders from Japan or Korea that only stick to themselves, hired gun athletes for a post grad or extra junior year that only stick to themselves, Ivys for the smart kids, Trinity/Middlebury for the average students, and the dumb ones get their parents to buy a new lawn for Quinnipiac, or just decide to avoid all pretense and go to ASU for 4 years and party with hot coeds. That’s why it was so easy to call bullshit on you.
