Grand Island’s “Weapons in Schools” Board Policy 8470 forbids “any instrument…that looks like a weapon,” But a three year-old’s hands? “We are working with the parents to come to the best solution we can for the child,” said Jack Sheard, Grand Island Public Schools spokesperson. That’s just about all GIPS officials will say for now.

You know what the best part of this story is? It’s fucking real. Like somebody at this school actually thought that they better stop this 3 year old deaf kid from signing his name the way he does. They thought he was breaking the School Board Weapons policy. And they brought this idea to somebody else who actually thought it made sense. And on and on it went up the chain till they tried to ban the gesture. It’s surreal. I mean every time I think I can’t be stunned by how stupid school administrators are we get a story like this. Just flat out the craziest, most delusional, power hungry motherfuckers on the planet.

If I was ever elected President I’d make every teacher and school administrator should have to work in the real world for 3 years before getting into education. At least that way they’d have some grasp on reality and how the real world works and what is important. Because as it stands there is literally no group of people more unfit to prepare kids for life than life time educators and this story once again proves it.

PS – Maybe I’d think the school had a legit gripe if we were talking about the deaf kid’s father.  Now this dude has loose cannon written all over him.
