Sometimes A Picture Really Is Worth A Thousand Words
And this will be the play that ends the replacement ref era. Just no way Goodell holds out another week. Not after this. This was his Waterloo. I’d be every cent I have that the real refs are back for next week. And yes betting the Packers -3.5 and losing on a Hail Mary in the end zone where there was clearly offensive pass interference and your guy intercepted the pass has to be the worst beat of all time. To quote John Gruden. “Horrific”
PS – I may be in the minority here, but the Pats game notwithstanding I’m actually loving the replacement ref era. I mean tonight was AWESOME. This is the XFL that Vince McMahon dreamed of. Clueless refs butchering every game, fights every 3 seconds and general chaos at all times. I watch sports for entertainment. I don’t care what anybody says. These moron officials have ratcheted up the entertainment level a billion fold. I’m almost sad that it has to end so soon.

bizarro world…
Goodell’s a hardo cunt. Haven’t you heard Professor Steve Young’s analysis? Demand for the NFL is INELASTIC. He’s just going to come out and fine Bill Belichick and John Harbaugh tomorrow and laugh in everyone’s faces.
Pats got screwed more
To quote OMC “how bizarre, how bizarre”
The ginger hammer don’t give a shit
I love it. A picture and then a bunch of nonsense. Just what were you trying to tell us portnoy? Man, to quote warren sapp, you are a “retard”
I dont know CPS, this play was reviewed and they still fucked it up. On top of the ticky tack roughing the passer call on the INT and the phantom PI call on Shields.
This shit is the cherry on the top. The strike should be over by weeks end.
I haven’t seen a call like that since Leslie Nielson was the ump in Naked Gun
Goodell is the ultimate roger tv views, playing chess while all other sports playing checkers
Enrico Pilatzo!!
elpres should be a ref, great bloggin material
Brian Boyle on twitter: “Lastly, so many ppl talkin bout week 3 #mnf game might not put much pressure on goodell to change anything. #ratingsboost #moneytalks” unfortunately could be true
somewhere Jim Joyce is smiling and combing his hardo mustache
Most exciting weekend of NFL in five years. OTs, lasts second drives, game winning kicks, hail Mary’s. The Bengals vs Redskins game was entertaining. Read that three times.
Only thing missing was the “What is Love” music with the ref’s heads moving side to side .. “who me -him, me – him …. OKOKOK”
Can’t wait to see Steve Sabol’s piece on this game on NFL Films.
Lost 100 bucks on that call. Unreal. I really feel like raping someone. #NFLrapeculture
timmychang ftw
I feel the “real” refs should accept the NFL’s offer, otherwise the job title NFL Ref on a resume looks worse and worse every week.
i need some spending money, i guess i’ll just go ref a few games for the nfl
Haven’t seen a screwjob like this since Dave Hebner. Might need to go back to boxing, it seems more legit at this point.
When skip bayless and I agree on something….it has to be real bad.
Refs gave Aron Rodgers a kicking ball when they were going for the 2 pt conversion also
Jon gruden has a bitter taste in his mouth. Who’s the lucky guy?
Green Bay got fucked like Bibi Jones
The ever elusive Touchception rule.
inexcusable. not the call itself, i expect the scab refs to suck. but to allow this for even one regular season game is unbelievable. you’re the fucking NFL. we watch because it’s a high-quality product. goodell is insulting our collective intelligence trying to pass this bullshit off as acceptable.
There’s going to be a lot of drunken, domestic abuse in Wisconsin tonight.
You know who else is glad this game ended in this fashion? ESPN, this game is gonna get more airtime on ESPN than Brett Favre’s 37 retirements combined.
^ absolutely true
firing neil > replacing refs
If I were these refs I’d quit before I take a bullet to the skull from a gang of angry drunk GB hillbillies.
As an owner of the Packers, I resemble that remark. ^
so jennings scored winning td for seahawks. that makes perfect sense. had packers outright. kind of aids. betting on football is going to take a dive, better odds playing roulette sex with a whore
these games are going to make ed hochuli rich
Definitely a screwed up call, but the only reason GB had the lead was a call that kept their previous drive alive. Take away this one and the one GB got, and Seattle still wins.
@meriweathershelmet I had 100 on the Seahawks. Loved the call. It was the right call.
Good god, the Pats fucking lost get over it.
Stop living up to our expectations of the crybaby bootlicking sissy-marys we figure all Pats fans are.
Goodells not the isssue fucktard. Ths holdout is coming from the owners
@ TonyTwotoes what was your point about Steve Young? Did he use a word that was too big for you to understand or what? Econ 101…
I like how you took the time to zoom in on the picture… which shows us NOTHING. So that’s fun…
I actually kind of feel bad for the replacement refs. Yeah, they’ve fucked some things up but it’s sort of not their fault. They aren’t NFL refs, period. They don’t have the training, the experience, etc. They look like a herd of deer out there with twenty semis bearing down on them
I for one am enjoying listening to Dennis and Callahan rip the refs but still try to defend their right wing anti-union attitude
Guess what? Everyone can bitch and moan all they want about the replacement refs but I guarantee you they will be calling the games this coming weekend. The only thing is that Goodell is going to hand out some fines and say fuck you to pretty much everyone. Dude does not even care about “protecting the shield” as he calls it. Additionally people can complain all they want but they will still watch games, buy tickets and buy apparel. NFL can put out an incredibly mediocre product if they want to and it won’t matter – it’s like a drug people can’t say no to.
Do you read this shit before you post it? You’re a fucking journalist, do you job and edit! Fucking every day spelling and grammar mistakes.
Hipneck, its like they don’t even know the rules though.
I’m pretty anti-union, but even I am on the side of the refs here. The NFL agreed the pension and it’s been in place for years. For them to come in and try abolishing it is a pretty lousy move. The real compromise/middle ground is one the refs have already gotten to: grandfather in existing pensions but only 401ks from here on out. They are right not to budge from that point, and they shouldn’t.
I can’t believe it, but I totally agree with Pres. This shit is AWESOME. Completely awesome. And it’s only going to get better. Each week, each play, each call – more pressure mounts, calls get worse.
No way this strike ends this week. Ratings are at an all time high….
@UpsideDownViews.com – my point was that Steve Young makes a reference to a basic economic concept and then every other person at ESPN runs with it like it’s the greatest point of all time and some innovative concept. My whole comment was sarcastic, so go fucking choke with your “Econ 101″ comment Will Hunting.
The worse part about this happening is now people are finally saying get rid of the replacements because they screwed rodgers the golden child, but when it happens to the pats we are just complainers who dont deserve to win.
I think this weekend we’re going to see one of the refs turn heel and smash Alex Smith with a folding chair.
refs are not the morons is; the NFL leadership is. They couldn’t get any good Division 1 College Refs… they all are busy this season… so they scoured the lowest ranks they could. They simply weren’t qualified. If this doesn’t end the Ref strike, nothing will.
I wonder how much the refs take was for last night’s obvious bullshit call. Bookies everywhere are smiling about that purchase today…
if you’re still betting on these games, and especially on the road team, you’re not smart
Vegas was already giving the home teams an extra point (from +3 to +4) because of the replacement refs. After this weekend’s finishes with the Pats and the Packers, I’d have to argue that home field is +5 at least.
On the plus side, at least DB’s can hit receivers again, like the old days.
I had Seattle, can’t say I am too broken up about it.
Massholes please shut the fuck up already about the FG. It was good. Everyone knows it but you mouthbreathers. Unlike the debacle from last night where there is a consensus even amongst Seacocks players. No Div I coaches would come in to ref because they don’t want to risk losing their current job while being a scab also, no college ref would do that. Only options are the high school and Div III refs and they clearly suck. Have differing opinions on public vs. private sector unions. Public has way too much power and is a huge reason why local governments are broke, if the world all had unions then greedy cocksucking corporations like Bain wouldn’t have anywhere to outsource jobs. Just think, if the filthy chinese suddenly had minimum wage laws jobs would stay here. Good for refs to strike, fuck the greedy NFL owners.
A blog ep.
absolutely ridiculous call … can’t believe the NFL has come to this!
