Brilliant marketing here by Sportbook.com. “Oh look at us. We’re the mushy, cuddly offshore bookie. We’re going to refund all the people who bet on the Packers. Don’t worry everybody Sportsbook.com has your best interests in mind. Gambling is fun, safe, cool activity.” Yeah whatever bro. First of all there is a huge difference between refunding a bet and giving people a free play of equal value. Huge difference. That means you got to win to get your money back. If you really want to say you’re refunding people than just put the money back into their account.

But more importantly this is the classic case of feeding a degenerate. Giving them a little sniff to make sure they hooked. Like that Packers debacle was the exact type of thing that could wake somebody up to be like “what am I doing wasting all my money on this shit?” So what does Sportsbook.com do? They swoop in and stick a needle in your arm before you even have a chance to think about it and call it medicine. Diabolical and brilliant all at once.

UPDATE – Even better Sportsbook.com is only refunding European customers.  Not US.   Just reinforces what I just wrote.  NEVER trust the book.
