Baltimore Sun - Ripken was abducted by a man between 7 and 8 a.m. Tuesday after he pulled a handgun and forced her into a 1998 Lincoln Town Car, according to the Aberdeen Police Department. “This has been a very trying time for our family, but we are grateful and relieved that mom is back with us, safe and healthy,” said a statement released by the Ripken family. “We want to thank everyone for their tremendous support, especially all of the law enforcement agencies that worked so hard and quickly.” The suspect was described as a white male in his late 30s to early 40s. Violet Ripken was located about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday unharmed in her vehicle in close proximity to her home, police said.

I just had to chime in on this story for a second. There is literally no chance Violet Ripken was abducted at gun point. Zero chance. This is simply a case of being old.  Clearly she got lost. She got disoriented. She wandered out of the house. She got scared. She made up a story and that is that. But no way she was kidnapped. You just don’t get kidnapped and found 2 hours later sitting safely in your car across the street asking when Matlock is on. That’s not how it goes. Plus who would kidnap Cal Ripken’s mother anyway? Seriously who?
