RA, These type of covert operations have been going on for years. On the History Channel recently there was an episode pertaining to the killing of Admiral Yamamoto and the parallel between what happened this week with POS OBL and Yamamoto were surprisingly similar. Yamamoto planned and carried out the attack on Pearl Harbor and the US wanted desperately to take him out. The Intelligence people had broken the Japanese code (leading to a catastrophic defeat @ the Battle of Midway in June of 1942) and the US found out that Yamamoto would be flying to Bougainville and sent out an elite killer squadron of P-38's to take him out and they did. The difference here is that instead of trumpeting the fact that they killed Yamamoto they instead covered it up so the Japanese wouldn't know their code had been broken. Either way, both architects of dastardly sneak attacks on America were done in by US Intelligence and some bad assed Naval personnnel.

I just think the gov't isn't under any obligation to fill in every gap and piecemeal the story like they're doing.
