It's a novelty to people who buy for one. They go into a store and buy a couple of this and one of that. I spend $250 minimum at the grocery store a week......its not fun and neat to find fantastic things to buy...its a fucking nightmare of epic proportion to hand over thousands and thousands of dollars a year. Go in find some deals and see if you can get out of there without a second mortgage, I don't care if they have designer sauce, or 35 types of crackers. I want 10lbs of hamburger and some generic pasta.

Because the previous posts extolled the virtues of grandiose stores. This isn't something most family shoppers care much about. Get in get the essentials at the best price and get the fuck out. Most of them don't stand around different sections of a store to marvel at the selection.

I think what Lugz is trying to say is that in general Whole Foods (or Wegman's) is obviously better than Market Basket in terms of quality, but dropping $500 a week at the grocery store sucks so for him Market Basket (or the like) >> Whole Foods.

I got no problem with his logic.
