They tried to build a stadium on campus a few years ago. Mumbles cited “community opposition” and basically squashed any chance they had to build a stadium on campus, on land they owned. He was more than willing to allow them to spend millions to fix up city-owned White Stadium, then lease it for football, though. Nice guy, that Mumbles. Chalk up another victory for corrupt Boston policitians…
