So this interview is going viral right now. Basically Jim Rome interviewing David Stern and asking Stern if the lottery is rigged. A totally fair question since the league owned/owns the Hornets and everybody thinks it is. Stern responds by asking Rome whether he beats his wife. So far out of bounds it’s not even funny. Because I’m sure just like everybody else who was listening to this my kneejerk reaction was to think that Rome does or did beat his wife. For the record he doesn’t and never has been accused of that. It was just Sterns way of saying how dare you ask me such a ridiculous question. I thought Rome did an unreal job of handling that response. Kept his cool and really made the commissioner look like the smug, arrogant baby that he is. And when you seem smug and arrogant compared to Jim Rome you know somebody is really smug and arrogant. In fact I think I need to retract what I said a couple days ago about Tiger Woods being the smuggest human being on the planet. I was wrong. It’s David Stern. Just an insufferable SOB. I’d love for somebody just to beat the shit out him and take him down a few notches. Such an assface.
PS – The thing that triggered this and pissed Stern off was the Seattle jab. Totally fair and totally hilarious.
Double PS – Did I mention that after we filmed one of the Rome segments for his TV show he turned to me and said “That was 3 power minutes” Ha. Still cracks me up thinking about it.

David Stern is the reason no one really cares about basketball. Why there are only really 5 teams that compete. And for him to straight-faced say that the team was just sold as the reason it couldn’t have been fixed is even more laughable. How about grabbing Benson and telling him that you will sell him the team and give him the number one overall pick? Think that is plausible? What a miserable, arrogant fuck.
At the end of the day…”do you beat your wife?” is the biggest dick comment out of either. Stern should know what to expect when he’s talking to Rome. And to be honest, I don’t think the lottery question was really out of line at all…a lot of people DO think that. And Rome is the type to ask it.

I know you have a hatred for Stern because he fixed the Conf finals, but I thought this was great for Stern. This is a classic Vince McMahon move and I’m frankly shocked you didn’t eat it up. Isn’t this what makes shit entertaining? Guys with balls calling the shots and saying what shouldn’t be said? Rome asked a silly question so Stern fired back with a shot to the throat. Didn’t even flinch, and when Rome stepped on it he waited patiently to fire again! What a classic dick move. I thought it was awesome.
Rome is the biggest jock sniffing dickhead in the media. I hate Stern too but I have to admit I enjoyed him dissing Rome. Rome is too busy garggling cum to ask the athletes tough questions.

Rome didn’t flip out about the wife question because he’s smart enough to understand the implication. (And it pains me to say that b/c I can’t stand Rome.) Stern was equating the rigged draft question to the old “unanswerable” question (do you still beat your wife?). You can’t say yes or no and, if you argue the premise of the question, you look defensive.
Stern is a grade A douchebag though. One of the many reasons I hate the NBA.
