Adam Carolla Says Women Aren’t Funny. Internet Explodes In Outrage.
(ChicagoTribune) – Good thing Adam Carolla has such a big mouth — because he seems determined to stuff both of his feet into it these days. The former “Man Show” host is taking flak across the Internet this week for opining that women are inherently less funny than men – and Tuesday on “The Talk” he raised a few more hackles by suggesting that jokes about homosexuals are okay because they get a laugh. Carolla drew charges of sexism earlier this week in an interview with the New York Post when he told reporter Larry Getlen that women have inferior senses of humor. Asked if he hated working with women, Carolla – who’s promoting a new book, “No Taco Bell Material” – replied, “No. But they make you hire a certain number of chicks, and they’re always the least funny on the writing staff. The reason why you know more funny dudes than funny chicks is that dudes are funnier than chicks. If my daughter has a mediocre sense of humor, I’m just gonna tell her, ‘Be a staff writer for a sitcom. Because they’ll have to hire you, they can’t really fire you, and you don’t have to produce that much. It’ll be awesome.’”
So I saw this yesterday and Twitter basically exploded. Women everywhere coming out of the woodwork to say what a sexist asshole the former co-host of “The Man Show” is. Ummm, what planet am I on? Not even trying to be an asshole, isn’t it an accepted fact that chicks aren’t funny? Like white people are better skiers, black people are better basketball players, Asians are better at math, men are funnier. They’re stereotypes but they’re stereotypes for a reason. I’m honestly shocked to learn that feminists think chicks are funny. I mean talk about blindly cheering for your team and ignoring all the facts. After Tina Fey I’m not even sure there’s a girl who makes me chuckle. Amy Poehler and Kelly Oxford are pretty funny but it’s kinda Tina then the field. Meanwhile I can name about 1000 hilarious dudes. Those are the facts.
PS – it’s become common to combat this argument with “Didn’t you see Bridesmaids though?!” yea I did and that movie sucked. C- comedy for the first half, F- drama for the second half. Maybe the most overrated movie in history. Okay the fat chick was funny but she’s half dude.
This is akin to women getting mad at somebody saying they are the worse drivers even though, scientifically, it has been conclusively proven they are, in fact, the worse drivers. I know humor isn’t that cut and dry but, come on now, Corolla isn’t even saying what we are all thinking, he’s saying what we all know.

Christopher Hitchens said this years ago and actually gave a great explanation as to why. Men simply need to be funny. It’s part of how we get chicks. The funnier you are, the more likely you’ll get laid and pass on your seed. Women can be boring as shit and still get laid 99% of the time. Simple as that.
The only funny chicks that I’m aware of are Lisa Lampinelli and Sarah Silverman. Lampinelli is only funny because she is down right disgusting and Sarah Silverman is only funny b/c she lives with Jimmy Kimmel. Bridesmaids was only funny because of toilet humor which is quite masculine, the actors weren’t funny the fact that they were shitting themselves was funny. Adam Carolla is stating fact. I’ve had women say that most women comedians aren’t funny. Most women who do comedy tell jokes that guys can’t relate too, i.e. period jokes or having babies.

Bridesmaids was horrible. If Adam sander/will ferrel/Ben stiller/Zachary galifinakus(sp?)/other comedic actor eer made a movie where the key funny scene was guys eating Brazilian food and having diaheria it would be blasted by every reviewer as sophomoric, moronic, low brow, easy, unfunny humor (because it is). Have a girl write and perform that movie and suddenly it’s genius, Oscar worthy, groundbreaking stuff. Thy just goes to prove that all critics and most people agree women aren’t funny. It’s like giving a big award for the slow kid who does OK in the race. It’s cute they tried so hard and did as well as they did.
