I can’t disagree with you on the pussies that dive (no surprise this is Italy) but you can’t say the games haven’t been good to watch (I know you haven’t been watching them EP). If the refs want to fix this, they should be more aggressive about carding for diving.
Also, don’t bitch so much about diving in soccer. If you posted every NBA “flop” you’d see there isn’t that much difference in teams trying to get a call for their team. Both the Celtics and Lakers have been guilty of phantom fouls this series.

Was watching Brazil vs North Korea yesterday, when a Korean knocked Kaka down, As Kaka was falling, he bent his leg back, which was between the other players leg, and kicked the guy right in the PePe. Needless to say, the Korean had to leave the game and be replaced.
I love soccer and have played my entire life but watching players dive like that makes me want to punch someone in the face. Three ways to make soccer more enjoyable to watch:

Maury, can’t agree with getting rid of offsides. You could make the same argument that hockey could/should do the same. Soccer has changed to more of a defensive game, hence the lower soccers. Look at the scores in the 80s and 90s. Now, more teams are packing in the defenders and making it harder to score. It just sucks that players try to take dives to get free kicks, penalty kicks, etc.

I’m going by experience as well, I’ve played outdoor 11X11, indoor 5X5 with boards, indoor 7X7 without boards with a bigger field then normal indoor field.
The 7X7 was by far the best to play and had the most goals scored and more action.

lets all be honest, how is hockey not the most popular sport in the history of the world after football (NFL). I watch a lot of sports and I have come to the conclusion that besides the NFL and NHL, everything else sucks.

Neely8- there is diving in the NHL but it is minimum compared to NBA and soccer and it is frowned upon in the NHL. Guys take shit if they are known divers, they get harrased. For instance, Shawn Thronton has said that Mike Ribeiro’s nickname is “Yard sale” cause his shit is all over the ice whenever he gets touched. But I will say I wish the NHL would penalize divers more often

Hey Chourico- I have never pretended to be Canadian and I watch hockey, whats that make me? The NBA does have better TV ratings but by not as much as you think. The playoffs and Olympics did very well for NBC. And I guarantee you that in cities that like hockey like Boston, Philly, Detroit, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Washington the NHL got equal if not better tv ratings and ticket sales. Its markets in the south that kill the NHL’s numbers.
