The Star - Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Alex Rios apologized for his actions Friday after a video posted on YouTube captured his profanity laced response to a fan’s taunts. The 33-second clip (warning: contains graphic language) entitled “Alex Rios is none too friendly” was taken outside a gala for the team’s foundation Thursday night and begins with Rios walking to his car, apparently brushing off a child’s request for an autograph. An older fan than shouts, “The way you played today Alex, you should be lucky someone wants your autograph.” Rios, who struck out five times in a 6-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels earlier in the day, responded by cursing at the fan. The fan proceeded to call Rios “a bum” and yelled “remember where you come from” as the tux-clad outfielder responded with more curses before getting into his car. “I want to apologize to my fans, to the team, to my teammates because it was something I should never have done,” Rios said before Friday’s game against the Kansas City Royals. “That could give me a bad image, that’s not the person I am. I just lost my cool,” he said. “You shouldn’t act like that, even if there are sites like (YouTube) or people following you, trying to make you say bad things.

Damn you youtube! Always making pro athletes look bad by tricking them into saying nasty things! Where is Scott Boras when you need him to crush this evil monster? Seriously though I kind of feel bad for Alex Rios here. I mean if I went 0-5 with five whiffs (never fucking happen in a million years) I probably wouldn’t be in the autograph signing mood either. Hey kid you want an autograph? Buy a ticket.
