NHSportspage - Bill Johnston took over the varsity reigns at Keene High before last season after being told by everyone he loves and respects that it was a huge mistake, ” I must have had had ten or twelve people, people I love & respect, try and talk me out of it,” said the lifelong Keene resident Johnston was fired last week by Athletic Director Leslie Farmer after it was reported Johnston called one of his players ‘a lazy piece of (expletive)’ in practice. It should be noted that the person who reported it was not the parent of the player Johnston was talking to and Johnston stresses that the comment was made in a joking manner. Farmer, two weeks after a positive mid-season review on January 16th in which she told Johnston ‘I know you are in this (leading the program) for the long haul,’ asked for Johnston’s key to the school and fired him half-way through the regular season. Farmer explained to Johnston that if a student athlete has a problem with a coach (who does not work in the school system), he (and/or his parents) can make anonymous complaints against the coach and the coach will be replaced immediately-and without discussion. Johnston was fired. There was no discussion on the matter.

Well this story did the impossible. It made me totally overlook the fact that this coach got fired for swearing at a player. Like I thought for sure that was going to be the entire thesis of this blog. What a pussy society we live in now where coaches can’t even swear at a player for being lazy, blah, blah, blah.  But nope. That was child’s play compared to hearing the school policy that the coach got fired for.

WTF? Not joking that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Letting kids issue anonymous complaints and then firing the coach without discussion. Is that even legal? Seriously what fucking planet am I on? I’m literally speechless. Where is the common sense coalition when you need them? Somebody has to step in here and fire the AD and the principle and anybody else involved in this school that let this happen. Because they are all obviously lunatics incapable of rational thought. There is no other explanation for it. That rule is pure unadulterated insanity and the only place you could get away with something so blatantly illegal and unfair is in the educational system.  A bizzaro world place where the people in power act like dictators and think whatever they say should go without any debate, discussion or rational thought because they are in charge. It’s fucking wild.
