The Red Sox “sell out streak” is a fraud. There are hundreds of empty seats at weekday games against bad teams and you can buy tickets from the team directly before the game. People are dumping tickets for below face on stub hub. That means it ain’t sold out. Econ 101.

@kobrakai, any tickets on stub hub are considered sold by the primary entity, the same way ticket agent tickets have already been bought from the team by the agent. It’s how teams can say they are sold out even though there are empty seats.
BTW, anybody that wants to can go down to Rowe’s Wharf and take a leak on Henry’s yacht. He’s mentally checked out on this team.

First off, The O’s were in the playoffs in ’97 (much more recent than 30 years), the attendance last night for a Wednesday night game against a shitty team was in the 23,000′s. Not bad by any means. I don’t know how an underdog and underfinanced team that was expected to barely win 60 games is currently in playoff position and in 2nd place in what is by far the toughest division in all of baseball. As a lifelong O’s fan, I can see why they are not getting a higher attendance. Our owner, Peter Angelos, has been the worst owner in all of sports over the past 10-15 years. Signing bums to big contracts, lack of quality free-agent signings, making no attempt to field a competitive team, etc. Everyone that is a fan of Baltimore thinks he is a complete shithead. The lack of attendance has nothing to do with a lack of support to the team (everyone is estactic that they are playing so well) but I think the low numbers are because no one wants to support the shithead owner (and put money into his pocket that he wont spend on the team). Our new GM has done a great job in his first year, and it has absolutely nothing to with douchebag Angelos. Fuck that guy. I dont know how many times I wished he would die a nasty, sloppy, sodomized death. Go O’s
