Horrible play call as well. You can whine all you want about the ref f*ing up the spot (and they did), but shame on the Pats for even putting themselves in a situation where they could get screwed. 4th and 2, how about calling a 5 yard pass to Moss or Welker who were open all night.

And for the rumpswabs who still can't fault Belichick for anything, both Tedy Bruschi and Rodney Harrison, two of Bill's favorite people in the world, said it was a bad coaching move.

On the plus side, I still would not have anyone else coaching this team and, with Vollmer, left tackle appears to be all set for the next 10 years.

Love the pre-game where they asked the living 20 H.O.F. QB's who they would rather have Brady or Manning.

What was it 16.5 for Manning...

3.5 for Brady.

Ouch, that hurts the homer in me!

Diehard Pats fan. Horrendous call, not sure how you can even defend it. Make them go 70 yards, not 28.

Regardless, Pats are a team to reckon w/. I like what I see out of the secondary and the big lineman Vollmer is a beast. Got 7 more games to fine tune this team and they will be very dangerous come playoff time. Can talk all you want about this call, but bottomline, this isn't going to make or break their season. Maybe cost them home field advantage but besides that Pats will most likely have a home playoff game, then off to Indy. The Pats do not fear Indy in any way after this loss.

Faulk didnt get the first down, Maroney had a dumb fumble, horrible timeout management down the stretch and a bad 4th and 2 play call.

If you "know" manning is going to score anyway then why not make him go 70 yards instead of 30 and perhaps bring in other factors into play like bad snaps, fumbles, int's etc.

Manning is 5-1 in his last 6 against that pats.

No excuses, maybe Indy gets upset in the divisional round of the playoffs.

I'll always believe that Kevin Faulk got a first down. And if the game was being played at Gillette, I'm sure it would have been. But just looking at that play, why wasn't the ball going to Welker or Moss? I have confidence in Faulk when he's running draws or catching screens, but on a big pass play like that, the ball should be going to one of our two best receivers.

Time to take the rose-colored glasses off. Worst decision EVER! If all the people who are saying "he didn't trust his defense"..if that is true, then why the hell would you take the chance of giving Manning the ball on the 28 yard line!!?? If you don't trust your defense, at least make him have to go 60 - 70 yards to score, not the last third of the field. F'n ridiculous!

I know its easy to judge the result and not the call, but WTF. Tim Sorgi has a 75% chance of scoring a TD from the 29, let alone Manning. If the offense is the moneymaker, lets never punt again. Release the kicker toopen up a roster spot for another linebacker and just go old school.

I think last night was the PERFECT spot for a pooch punt out of the shotgun. Could have let Faulk do it. The guy is money.

People are bitching about him going for it on 4th down but I agreed with it. Colts had just gone the length of the field in 3 plays. The spot was a joke but seriously, it's what you expect in the away stadium. I think a lot was decided in November in a game they should have won. Playoffs will go through Indianapolis and they are going to the superbowl. Too bad.

I want to hear jerry's thoughts on this. IMO he's probably the best football analyst out there.

Of course, he's also the Al Sharpton of the patriots world, looking for every slight as a way to prove "everyones against us!!!" I figured it started when costas opened the game with "the straight shooter (dungy) vs the rule bender (BB)". I could here JT's righteous indignation all the way down here in CT
