Peyton Manning is a HOF quarterback who has a sub par playoff resume. That INT was inexcusable by Peyton but, to my memory, that is really the first time you could point to a play in the playoffs were Peyton made such a huge error. Most of the time he just runs into a superior team and loses. I’m not surprised that most pundits aren’t raking him over the coals (think Favre’s first terrible pick with GB against the Giants, “Just trying to make a play”), especially after the season he had.
What Peyton needs to be careful of is throwing such a bush league pick again next year. He does that and you’ll see much more of a reaction similar to Favre’s INT against the Saints. I get that football is a team sport but when the guy is the QB and, basically, the Offensive Coordinator shouldn’t he get a bit more flak for being 9-11 in the playoffs?

Denver spots manning 14 points on kick return TDs at home and he still blows the game. Manning chooses to run the ball FIVE straight times to a rookie rb on their last possession instead of growing a pair of nuts and throwing the ball on 3rd down and ending the game. Manning throws a HORRIBLE wounded duck for an INT in 2nd overtime that costs them a game and the only thing the announcers can muster is calling it a mistake. Manning is 9-11 all time in the playoffs including going one and done EIGHT times (four of which were at home after a bye) and like 5 times being nearly 10 point favorites. His only Super Bowl he beat Rex fucking grossman in the pouring rain. Dude is the softest QB when it comes to crunch time it’s pathetic. Tom Brady threw a perfect pass to a wide open Wes Welker to ice the last superbowl and avenge their previous superbowl loss to the Giants that turned a perfect season into an 18-1 punchline. Oh wait, he actually choked and threw behind Welker, allowing Eli and the Giants to drive down the field for another gut wrenching, final drive touchdown that tore through New England’s soul – again! Matt Cassell stepped right into that system and the team didn’t miss a beat. Truth is, if Peyton played for the Pats you would probably have another 2 or 3 titles. Brady played great in one superbowl, had Viantieri save his ass twice, and lost to Eli twice. Not so great.
It’s insulting to Favre to compare the Payton throw vs Baltimore to him. In that game Favre played his ass off. In New Orleans, with Adrian Peterson fumbling the ball like he was a gay man in prison shower dropping the soap, with the team taking a penalty that took the kicker out of FG range, and only then losing in the overtime. Broncos lost this game with this throw, and were in the game because of the kick return guy. Favre was the one and only reason that the Vikings were even in position to win that game, and he did it without his other ankle.
Payton isn’t as good as Brady. Everyone knows that. I like manning though. Guys seems pretty cool. But if you would take Manning over Brady you deserve one and done in the playoffs. Tebow had more wins with that exact same team so stuff it with the comments about Brady always having better teams.

Lets make this simple…Brady and Manning are two quarterbacks who will be remembered for generations. Yes, I personally believe Brady is better and yes, it is evident Brady has been more successful in the playoffs. The truth lies in the numbers in that case, like people have mentioned, and it favors Brady far and away in the postseason.
Another note, I don’t hate Manning and in fact I have much more respect for him than Eli who has ringS, but for those saying he had a ‘good game’ or ‘can’t blame it all on him,’ …ya, maybe you can’t put it ALL on him…but he did throw a pick 6, he did fumble at a critical point in the game, and did throw the worst interception of his career.
