Ben Roethlisberger Accused of Rape
NBC - In a complaint that reads like the rape allegations made several years ago against NBA star Kobe Bryant, Harrah’s employee Andrea McNulty alleges sexual assault against Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in a lawsuit filed last week in Washoe County, Nevada. But lawyer David Cornwell strongly denied the allegations Monday night, in a statement released to PFT. “Ben has never sexually assaulted anyone; especially Andrea McNulty,” Cornwell said. In the civil suit, which Cornwell confirms was served on Roethlisberger over the weekend and a copy of which our own Gregg Rosenthal has obtained, McNulty alleges that Roethlisberger asked her to come to his hotel room to fix the television, and that he thereafter forced her to have sex with him. Roethlisberger faces one civil count of assault, one civil count of sexual assault and battery, one civil count of false imprisonment, one civil count of false pretenses, one civil count of fraud, and one civil count of intentional infliction of emotional distress.
And this my friends is the difference between Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger. One guy rapes chicks and the other one impregnates them. Still I kind of feel bad for Big Ben here. Listen we can’t all be Tom Brady. The facts are that when you’re ugly like we are, chicks tend to be more stubborn and won’t always “willingly” come to your room. That’s when you got to gently coerce them or pull the old “can you fix my tv” routine out of your bag of tricks. The key though is that you can’t falsely imprison and assault a chick if she doesn’t fall for it. Sure it can be a grey area, but no still means no. Regardless I have no reason to doubt Ben’s lawyer here. If he says “Roethlisberger has never sexually assaulted anybody…..especially the person who he raped” than so be it.

What does the “especially” mean? He MIGHT have raped someone else… but NOT Andrea?

…and…its only a civil suit. If it was really that laundry list of charges why isnt she taking his ass to court on criminal charges? The age old problem with our legal system, bitches can cry wolf and get paid to go away.

How many women do you know who can fix a television? Especially one who failed out of high school and is working the front desk in a hotel? Maybe its justme, but when I tell the illiterate eye candy at the front desk that my TV doesn’t work, I’m expecting her to send up one of her Mexicans to fix it. When she shows up herself, I’m pretty sure she’s there to meet the deacon.

I think what the lawyer is saying is that Andrea McNulty is so fugly that no one would ever consider raping her.
I almost hate saying this because I know what is coming my way, but doesn’t the broad get the benefit of the doubt? I know there are serious oddities here- why take so long, why no criminal charges, why the false pretense charges, etc., – but there are other speculative points that raise suspicions. Most importantly, crazy freaked up shit goes down in Nevada every night by football players, basketball players, any guy with money, why bring a suit from this one? what makes it special/different?
I’m not saying she didn’t walk up stairs and fall on his dick, but perhaps she has a colorable claim.

I think what Ben is doing here is setting up his excuse as to why the steelers will loose to the Pat’s in the playoffs (if the steelers make the playoffs).
He can go with the old I was distracted by my rape charges routine, that old gag.
The difference between Roethlisberger and Brady is the woman would never have fallen for the “come to my room and fix my T.V.” scam with Brady.
She would know that Brady just needs to wave his hand over the T.V. set and it would be repaired.

She’s in Civil Court because the burden of proof is lower and she can get $$ damages. She only has to prove that it is “more likely than not” that she was raped by Roethslisberger to get some $ (which is obviously what she’s looking for) in a Civil Judgment. In Criminal Court, the State would have had to have proven it “beyond a reasonable doubt” and then there would be only criminal penalties against “Big Ben”. Normally you get the Criminal conviction and then sue civilly, but that is not always the case (See O.J. Simpson trial–no conviction, but civil verdict and penalties afterwards.)

Times are tough. She probably got laid off at work, and after realizing who laid her last year, figures to ca$h in on the little encounter by going for a settlement.
Hypothetical:
Ms McNulty gets slammed willingly by burger last year. Recently, she discussed the matter with a person who came along who is a lawyer. CHA-CHING! He immediately told her she could get some cash out of it! He told her right away she had a great case (I just need a $5,000+ retainer hun) and told her he would only get 50% of any settlement. “Too bad you didn’t tell me a year ago, we could have cashed in HUGE!!” Lawsuit.
