Boston Blazers Apologize For Half Time Lap Dance Contest
NYDaileynews - The Boston Blazers lacrosse team lost a few loyal fans this weekend after a scandalous halftime show left spectators covering their kids’ eyes. The halftime bit at Boston‘s TD Garden on Saturday night featured scantily clad dancers competing to see who could give the Blazers’ mascot, Scorch, the best lap dance, while the not-so-family-friendly rap song “Low” blasted through the stadium. The racy stunt was caught on YouTube and outraged many fans – especially those who took their young kids to see what was supposed to be an-all ages lacrosse game. On Sunday, the team’s President and GM Doug Reffue posted a statement apologizing for the sexy show on the team’s Facebook page. “The Boston Blazers halftime act for Saturday’s game was clearly not executed according to plan. We are extremely disappointed with elements of the halftime show,” he wrote. “We had intended to provide an entertaining and fun halftime environment for our fans and that is not what transpired.  While some fans on the page were pacified by the apology, others continued to express their disappointment. “Really, really shameful,” one commenter wrote. “We’ve been huge, huge supporters of the Blazers since the very first game, trying to get people involved. It’s a great organization, and I truly hope you learned something about letting human garbage run the entertainment.”
