Bostonherald – The Celtics [team stats] and Rajon Rondo [stats] have agreed on a contract extension that will pay the 23-year-old point guard some $55 million over five years, beginning with the 2010-11 season, a source confirmed to the Herald early this morning. The same source cautioned, however, that the pact is not yet completed. There are still details to be worked out, and although they are not expected to get in the way of securing Rondo’s future in Boston, “it’s not a done deal yet,” said a person close to the negotiation.

Both the Globe and Herald have big headlines right now saying that Rajon Rondo agreed to a contact extension with the Celts. Then you read the article and it’s like “it’s not a done deal yet.” Okay how about waiting to publish the article until it is a done deal? Is that too much to ask?     Either way let’s hope this gets done.    Obviously this would be huge for the Celtics especially after Danny Ainge basically ripped the shit out of him all winter.

PS – Quick Rajon Rondo story for you.   At my wedding the Celtics were staying at the same hotel as us.     I was walking back to my room at 3am and Rajon was hanging out in the hallway with his boys and I overheard him say the following;

“Damn, we got a bunch of naggers on our team this year”

He meant it like a bunch of motherfuckin ballers.    I knew right then and there we were going 82-0.
