Celtics Clearly Team To Beat Now In NBA
Well kudos to Danny Ainge. Just when I thought he was losing his mind with all this Rondo stuff, the Celtics go out and get Rasheed Wallace and re-establish themselves as the clear favorite to win the NBA championship. Although truth be told they were probably already the team to beat just with a healthy KG coming back, but now this makes us almost unstoppable. Because make no mistake about it adding Rasheed Wallace is a much bigger deal then the Cavs getting Shaq or Lakers getting Ron Artest. I mean look at our team now. Rondo, Pierce, Rasheed, KG , Perk , Ray, Scal and soon Grant Hill. Sure half our lineup may be senior citizens in a few years, but not next year or the year after. I guess KG’s mortal lock was right after all. We are going to win Banners 18 and 19 the next two seasons. Not to mention the fact it’s going to be a wild ride as well.
PS – I’m doing a preemptive strike on every nitwit (I’m talking to you WEEI) who complains about Rasheed Wallace camping out at the 3 pt line on offense or getting technical’s. That’s just what the guy does. He’s done it his entire career and he’s not going to change now. It’s one thing if you’re on the record as hating this acquisition right now, but I guarantee 75% of the people who loves this signing will at some point be bitching and moaning about the way he plays like they are surprised by it or something.

There is no doubt that this move makes the Celtics better. Especially if Davis is not going to resign, they fill the void he would leave and much more. He can do everything and will fit into the system as long as he doesn’t lose his cool and rack up the T’s. It’s going to be interesting to see how he fits, but I don’t think that they are a lock coming out of the East. Orlando got better with VC, Toronto got Hedo and the Cavs got Shaq. It’s going to be interesting.
It’s a good signing but I wouldn’t go sucking each other dicks just yet. It is no bigger of a signing then Shaq Foo going to the Cavs. Boston and Cleveland still have a balance of power and the Lakers are still the best team after signing the troubled Artest to the already defending Champs (and I hate LA BTW).
Rasheed looks older than Greg Oden if that’s possible. He’s past his prime, sorry pres. And please, stop cueing the duckboats. You really need a new catch phrase.

This is a big signing…Orlando barley beat us with out KG now we have two more rebounders than we had last playoffs. Orlando now has a gate at SG, VC can score but so could HEDO and they are equally bad on D.
Shaq is old and really doesn’t give them more than illgauskus gave them, if shaq plays 60 games I would be surprised.
As for the Lakers Artest can be a good signing if they get Odom back otherwise he is gonna jack with the chemistry of that team. Artest is a shooter and in the triangle playing the Scottie Pippen role you need to be able to pass. Which Artest doesn’t do well. I’m sure he and Kobe will get along great.
As for Toronto COME ON can anyone on that team play D?? Bosh, Marion, Calderon, Hedo, Bargnani. They’ll be great when their 3′s are falling and terrible when their not.

Great signing. This guy is the Claude Lemiuex of the NBA. Everyone hated him, but somehow his always scored the big goal in the playoffs. Replacing Powe and Mikki Moore with Sheed and Grant Hill = keep chasing us haters!

Sheed is 34 years old and will be a journeymen for the rest of his time in the NBA. He is on the downward side of his career. Call him the Brett Favre of the NBA. Cleveland signing Shaq still makes them better then you as they were last year.

I’m a Warriors fan (no joke) so I feel my opinion is probably the most unbiased here. The Lakers aren’t losing any key players. They lost Ariza and added Artest. Massive upgrade for the defending champs. Kobe now has his Rodman.

Bob Loblah, ok there is a big difference between Hedo and VC. Hedo peeked like 5 decades ago and he has been average on the Magic. VC at least is athletic and can take it to the hole. So it is going to make a huge difference
