Lot of fancy signings and trades floating around the NBA the last few days. Deron Williams, Steve Nash, Jamal Crawford, Joe Johnson. Everyone on edge wondering where Dwight Howard and Jeremy Lin will end up. I’ll take the guy who flies under the radar and just goes out there and gets it done. No one sees a problem with bringing back an old team that wasn’t good enough to win? Listen I’m a huge celts fane but this is bad. And don’t give me “If the Celtics had Bradley” bullshit, the Heat didn’t have Bosh, and I think he’s a little better than Bradley. They were the worst rebounding team in history last year and have done nothing to fix that.

@whorefrost, the thing is, they were good enough to win. Did they run out of steam? Sure, but Ray really was hobbled, no other way to explain missed FTs. They had the series in their hands..they gave the Heat absolutely everything they could handle. Plus if they have J-Terry and Ray off the bench, one of their biggest weaknesses (bench scoring) is in place. They’re obviously no lock..but they have one of roughly 5 teams even capable of a ring. I’ll take it
I don’t know Montross, I don’t think Ray and Bradley being banged up equal Bosh being out. And everyone is another year older, that can’t be ignored. Old teams drop off and get hurt, it’s what they do. They don’t go to 30-52, they get close and lose, and each year it gets a little worse. I understand this year’s free agent class sucks but they are burdening themselves for the next 3 years on the cap.

wow people overreact both ways way too much. celts clearly woulda had a better chance against the heat with bradley, and they also had a great shot at wining that series regardless. now i don’t know if bringing everyone back together is a useless effort, but i’d much rather see them do that that than have the team “rebuild” because “rebuilding” never works in the NBA unless you’re the heat and “rebuiliding” is considered 3 players being in cahoots and planning to play on the same team together anyways. i’m much happier with the C’s trying to improve last years team who was 1 win away from the finals than blowing it all up and starting from scratch because 1) that never works and 2)who were the celtics going to get? there’s almost never good free agents in the NBA and that certainly includes this year. so please, if someone wants to argue with me, let me know what the celts could have done to be in a better position because unless you think being sucky and getting a high draft pick is the best plan, they are doing the best thing they can for this team.
