It’s official. The Celtics simply can’t take advantage of mismatches when they present themselves. In game 1, the C’s were handed Ray Allen vs.JJ Redick and Ray sucked, while that Dukie bitch Reddick had a great game. Now they had Rondo vs. Anthony Johnson and it might as well have been Rondo vs. Magic Johnson for a while. The Celtics are the ultimate Dr.Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde team right now. When they’re on… they’re fucking fantastic. When they’re off, they suck. In this one, they sucked.

Why didn’t they ride Eddie House’s hot hand? Every Celtics fan knows that when Eddie hits 2 or 3 shots early, he’s not going to miss anymore. House was 6 of 7 and 3 of 4 from 3. You need a hot Eddie House until the fire burns out. Missed opportunity.

Speaking of missed opportunities. How many layups did Big Baby miss?

Ray Allen: 3-13. Paul Pierce: 6-15. Rajon Rondo: 7-17. Add them up and you get 16 of 45. Fucking. Terrible.

Dwight Howard blocked a bunch of shots early, but again, none were his man. He commits so much to blocking shots on the help side, he’s leaving his man wide open. You beat Dwight Howard’s defense by going right to the rim, and when he comes over, dump it to his man, who is almost always open because Orlando doesn’t rotate on D.

Does Stan Van Gundy do anything in time outs besides yell out cliches?

Marcin Gortat has the look, and name, of a movie villain. Maybe the muscle for the bad guy in a Bruce Willis movie or something. Hedo Turkoglu looks like the guy who got acid dumped on his face.

Let’s give credit where credit is due. Orlando is a terrible playoff team because they bomb away from 3 no matter what the situation. But in Game 3, they didn’t do that. They let Rashard Lewis use his height and agility advantages by posting up Big Baby early. They attacked the basket and controlled the game early. Then they got hot from dowtown in the second half and put the C’s away. If THIS Orlando team keeps showing up, then the Celtics are going to have some problems. I still don’t think Orlando can do it… but now I’ve seen it’s possible. And that’s at least worrisome.
