Donald Strickland Vows Revenge on Mark LeVoir
USA Today – Jets CB Donald Strickland vowed retaliation against Patriots OL Mark LeVoir for what he claimed was an dirty hit during Sunday’s 31-14 New England win. Strickland suffered a concussion after being blocked by LeVoir on a play in the second quarter in which LeVoir’s helmet struck Strickland’s. “It was a real cheap shot,” Strickland told the Newark Star-Ledger. “He really didn’t have to go at my head like that, especially with the NFL’s precaution about helmet-to-helmet contact.” Strickland’s comments came on the same day Jets coach Rex Ryan said his team was “disrespected” by the Patriots on a deep pass in the final minute of the game. Strickland vowed to settle the score against LeVoir the next time the teams play. “It happened. It was a block and he took advantage of it,” he told the Star-Ledger. “But I guarantee you the next time we play them it’s going to be a different story. I’m making a point of emphasis to retaliate. That’s the way I feel.” The Jets and Patriots are not scheduled to play again this season.
OK, this used to be funny, but now I’m just getting angry and frustrated. Don’t the Jets get how this works? Barstool is basically El Pres, UB and myself. And there’s only so many hours in the day. If the Jets are going to be continually making silly, stupid, whiney statements every 20 minutes, there’s just no way for a mom & pop operation like us to keep up. At least not in a way that does it justice or lets us do justice to other sports, celebrity asses or drunken hijinks. Trying to cover the Jets while they act like bitches and demand that the rest of the world bend over backwards to raise their self esteem is becoming a full time job and we just can’t meet the demand. We’re like Lucy and Ethel at the candy factory, trying to wrap chocolates but the conveyor belt just keeps going faster and faster and we can’t move fast enough. So I’m imploring the Jets PR department: You’ve got to start limiting the number of times per week your coaches/players get sand in their vaginas. Maybe start scheduling the sessions the way the NFL lines up press conferences. Maybe give it a name and sell sponsorships. “Wussy Wednesday brought to you by Massengil” or something. But you’ve got do something to start spreading these things out before you kill us all.
PS. Strickland started his career with the Colts from 2003-05. So when it comes to bitching about physical football, he learned from the best. Maybe if he was still playing for Bill NaPolian, the Competition Committee would ban the Wide Receiver Screen play. Or maybe just blocking in general.
(Thanks to TM)
Guess that whole “you take out one of ours, we’re gonna take out two of yours” thing that Cryin’ Ryan bragged about prior to the season was all bullshit. This Jet team does nothing but talk big before games and whine like bitches after games.
this is almost getting to san diego charger territory
I was at the game, and I heard this hit up in the nosebleed seats.
That hit… was…. awesome!
I’ve been looking for it on youtube for the past 2 days.
No flag, no fine, no retribution on Sunday during the game…I don’t even see a Jet asking the ref for a flag. The fucking announcer called it clean.
Check out TB standing over the hurt guy with his hands in his pocket, while everyone else is getting back into the huddle!!!
Can you say bug on a windshield?
Key sentence in the story: “The Jets and Patriots are not scheduled to play again this season.”
See ya in 2010 Donuld. Have a great post-season vacation.
I doubt if this clown will be in the league next year, let alone be in a spot to be making a “point of emphasis” out of retribution.
Really, You’re gonna go get a guy that has 8 inches and 100 pounds on you. Is he going to bring a weapon onto the field or will he just use the force?
That hit must have given him brain damage because he ain’t right in the head.
Who care about the Jets? Sure they are a bunch of douchebag blowhards. That CB would need a sledgehammer to do any damage, and even then it’s a toss-up. But so what? The Jets suck. On to the next game.
making fun of the Jets is like making fun of Rocky Dennis. Sure its funny sometimes but too much is too much
strickland don’t forget to pick up your fucking tampon. It’s right next to your pride on the 47 yard line
I was at the game. On the following play Kerry Rhodes ran up all hot and bothered and pushed LeVoir in the back before running away like a bitch. Thought the ref might have called it as it was a runtothe left and this was way after the play but at that point shit was already bad enough for the Whiny Jets soni guess he let it go
he did lead with his helmet
Gotta keep you head on a swivel.
Piper Out.
You know what’s best about this whole thing? After the hit LeVoir just gets up and walks back towards the huddle. No crotch grabbing, chest thumping, preening, strutting , point to the sky and thank his Lord and Savior Jesus H Christ celebration. Just get up and head back to the huddle. The way it should be.
Hey Strickland, my flag football league is looking for players, it sounds like that is exactly what you need.
Vincent Vega nailed that right on the head. F*ck this guy. That’s a clean play. not like the ball was 30 yards down field or something. You got Jacked up. Deal with it. (As long as he doesn’t pull a “Last Boy Scout”)
Maybe then they could stop a screen?
as Smokey would say….”You got knocked the fuck out, man! Gimme my goddamn money……Payback’s a motherfucker, ain’t it, nigga! “
Mom and Pop Took Seinfeld’s Shoes… You Better not take anything from mee You Mom and Pop Blogg
Ronnie Lott makes a HOF career out of lighting up defenseless receivers going over the middle. Steve Atwater makes a name for himself doing the same thing. Rodney Harrison, ditto. All guys who were bigger than the receivers they were hitting, and all of them hitting guys who were basically defenseless. And people would say shit like “Yeah…don’t come over the middle! Great hit! Great play!” So an O-Lineman levels a CB, which is EXACTLY the same fucking thing, and suddenly, he’s “dirty.” Wait, what? How’s that go again? You aren’t allowed to hit anyone if you are on offense? Really? When did this rule happen? When was the last time some receiver who got up, looked out of his earhole, and said “Wow, Ronnie Lott is just dirty. He didn’t have to hit me like that.”
Can someone find Maroney running over the Jets safety Rhodes. That was priceless too. The Jets are becoming an embarassment at this point. They really need to muzzle it.
