USA TodayJets CB Donald Strickland vowed retaliation against Patriots OL Mark LeVoir for what he claimed was an dirty hit during Sunday’s 31-14 New England win. Strickland suffered a concussion after being blocked by LeVoir on a play in the second quarter in which LeVoir’s helmet struck Strickland’s. “It was a real cheap shot,” Strickland told the Newark Star-Ledger. “He really didn’t have to go at my head like that, especially with the NFL’s precaution about helmet-to-helmet contact.” Strickland’s comments came on the same day Jets coach Rex Ryan said his team was “disrespected” by the Patriots on a deep pass in the final minute of the game. Strickland vowed to settle the score against LeVoir the next time the teams play. “It happened. It was a block and he took advantage of it,” he told the Star-Ledger. “But I guarantee you the next time we play them it’s going to be a different story. I’m making a point of emphasis to retaliate. That’s the way I feel.” The Jets and Patriots are not scheduled to play again this season.

OK, this used to be funny, but now I’m just getting angry and frustrated. Don’t the Jets get how this works? Barstool is basically El Pres, UB and myself. And there’s only so many hours in the day. If the Jets are going to be continually making silly, stupid, whiney statements every 20 minutes, there’s just no way for a mom & pop operation like us to keep up. At least not in a way that does it justice or lets us do justice to other sports, celebrity asses or drunken hijinks. Trying to cover the Jets while they act like bitches and demand that the rest of the world bend over backwards to raise their self esteem is becoming a full time job and we just can’t meet the demand. We’re like Lucy and Ethel at the candy factory, trying to wrap chocolates but the conveyor belt just keeps going faster and faster and we can’t move fast enough. So I’m imploring the Jets PR department: You’ve got to start limiting the number of times per week your coaches/players get sand in their vaginas. Maybe start scheduling the sessions the way the NFL lines up press conferences. Maybe give it a name and sell sponsorships. “Wussy Wednesday brought to you by Massengil” or something. But you’ve got do something to start spreading these things out before you kill us all.

PS. Strickland started his career with the Colts from 2003-05. So when it comes to bitching about physical football, he learned from the best. Maybe if he was still playing for Bill NaPolian, the Competition Committee would ban the Wide Receiver Screen play. Or maybe just blocking in general.
