El Pres Mortal Lock Of the Year – Celts Get Banner 18 at +400
I’ll be the first one to admit that going into the playoffs this year I didn’t expect much out of the Celtics. I thought it was 50/50 we’d get past Miami. And if we beat them I thought we’d probably lose to Cleveland. And if somehow we managed to beat the overrated Cavs I didn’t think we’d have a shot in hell vs. Orlando. But that was before the playoffs started. Now I’ve done a 180 on them.
It’s clear that Doc and the Celts were just playing possum the entire regular season. Just trying to keep everybody healthy and then go crazy in the playoffs. Because there has been nothing flukish about what we’re seeing. KG looks 100% healthy. Rondo is nasty. Big Baby, Tony Allen and even Rasheed have been great off the bench. In other words the Celts are clicking on all cylinders. I thought Kenny Smith had the perfect analogy for the C’s on TNT the other day. He called them a leaky wall. You plug one hole and then another one sprouts open. You plug that hole and then another hole breaks open. It’s impossible to stop all the leaks. The Celts are too deep. Too strong 1-8 right now. Do we have a Lebron, Kobe or Dwight Howard? Maybe not although I’d argue Rondo is getting close but we definitely still have the best overall roster in the NBA. So I just don’t see anyway that Orlando or LA can beat us.
Remember this team has never lost a playoff series in which KG has been healthy. That’s 6-0 in playoff series since the arrival of the Big Three for those keeping score at home. And frankly this year’s team may be better than the championship team because of the the emergence of Rondo. So I guess what I’m saying is I don’t know how the hell the Celtics can be +230 against Orlando and +400 to win the title? This is a betting man’s dream. We should be the favorite right? And I’m not just saying that because I live here. I’m saying that because nobody has ever proven they can beat us when we are healthy. We took Orlando to Game 7 last year with a shell of our team. We clobbered LA in the Finals last time we met. I fully expect just more of the same this time around until the Duckboats are rolling down Causeway Street again.

That was a good season and taking out LeBron was nice. After the mush, there is no need to watch and it’s nice out today. I wonder when they will dump Allen in the offseason.

haha magic are deeper this year with jamir nelson healthy this series is gunna be a joke. there rolling (won there last 13 straight) and the celts are gunna be a push over, the cavs stood a better chance and even they wouldnt hang for long. id rather take orlando for it all…
