South AfricaAn engaged couple who dated for five years have been left in turmoil after their families met and they discovered they were brother and sister. The woman, who is due to give birth next month, is devastated by the discovery that the father of her child is her brother. The couple, who met at university, had decided they wanted to introduce their single parent families to each other before they got married. But at the meeting it emerged they were brother and sister who had been separated as small children. The unnamed South African couple are still in shock… It reported: ‘Their parents separated when the woman was eight months old and the man was two years old. ‘The man’s father said he dumped his wife in 1983 because she was cheating on him. The girl was raised by her mother, while her brother was raised by his father. ‘Neither of them knew they had a sibling.’

We can all sympathize with the bride and groom to be here.  No one wants to be days away from your wedding, all excited about jumping the broom and happily picking out a song list and deciding what table to put Aunt Elanor at and introducing your future in laws only to find out they’ve been boning their sister all along.  But you know what?  Deal with it.  What’s done is done.  Like the lawyers always say,  you can’t unring a bell.  Sure you wish you weren’t brother and sister.  But you love each other.  You’re happy together.  And that’s all that counts.  No couple is perfect.  Many nights I’m off by myself blogging or watching “American Horror Story” while my lovely Trophy Wife is off watching shows about house hunting or wedding dresses.  But we make it work.  These two are siblings who’s baby will probably be born with three eyes and flippers for hands.  The important thing is that you don’t break up a happy marriage over it, you work through it.  It’ll make a funny story you can tell your son years from now when he’s working as a Carny freak and posting on the Barstool comments section.

Just remember, some siblings who were separated at birth and had a weird sexual attraction have gone on to do extraordinary things.  @JerryThornton1
