In an interview this morning on Boston sports radio station WEEI, Celtics coach Doc Rivers said it was likely that Kevin Garnett would not be available to play at all in the playoffs.

“After today there’s no way he can play,” said Rivers, who left open the possibility his star could return at some point in the postseason but was not optimistic.

An NBA source confirmed to the Globe this morning that Garnett was only about 70 percent healed from the knee injury, which occured during a Feb. 19 game in Utah, and that the Celtics All-Star would likely miss the entire postseason.

There are two ways to look at this. One, the Celtics are screwed and LeBron is going to stroll to the NBA Finals.

If that’s what you think, you’re visiting the wrong website. That’s called “rational thinking” and we simply don’t subscribe to that loser frame of mind here at the Stool. Sure, the Celtics missing a 45-time All Star and reigning Defensive Player of the Year looks like a serious blow to the chances of repeating as champions. And that makes sense if you’re someone who perpetually looks at the world through shit-colored glasses.

The second scenario is that Big Baby and Leon Powe replicate KG’s numbers and intensity and Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo put on an offensive show every night until the rest of the NBA begs for mercy. I’m going with that scenario and why the f*ck not? This isn’t 1999- stop crying in your Cheerios, Boston, and expect to f*cking win.

So, where is your head at? Vote 1 for “I’m a pussy and literally crying in my Cheerios about KG’s injury” or 10 for “This is gonna make the Duck Boat Parade that much sweeter.”
