JacksonvilleA 20-year-old Middleburg man remains in the Duval County jail on aggravated battery charges after a Saturday brawl outside the Florida-Georgia game at EverBank Field during the first half of the game, police said.  James King Colby of Center Way was arrested at 4:40 a.m. on the charge and jailed on $250,000 bail, according to police. The victim of the fight, William Ross Cesery III of Mundy Drive South, was discharged from Shands Jacksonville after he was knocked unconscious outside the stadium, according to hospital officials.

Police said Colby intervened in what he thought was a fight near the retention pond next to Lot J at Georgia and Adams streets and began fighting, punching another man several times. During the fight, the victim grabbed his attacker and they both fell into the water, according to the arrest report. When he realized the victim was unconscious, he dragged him out of the water as a police officer arrived. Colby said he saw blood in the water after he punched the other man, according to his arrest report.  Police initially described Cesery’s injuries as “life-threatening,” but it was upgraded and he was treated and released.

What am I missing here?  The guy who won this fight is in jail with a bail set at $250K?   How is that possible?   What did he do wrong?  Like yeah he got in a fight.  Big whoop.  There are probably 500 fights at the World’s Largest Cocktail party.  That’s just what you do.  You get shitfaced, fuck and fight.  If anything he should be commended for dragging this guy out of the lake.  It’s not like he cheap shotted him.  This was a fair fight between two drunkards.    Shit happens.   I just don’t get it.  There has to be more to it right?   Sounds like sour grapes from Florida fans.
