QUEENSBURY, NY – An Essex County woman who works as a youth basketball coach was arrested Friday on charges she had sex with an underage teen at a Queensbury motel last month, State Police said. Joey Strong, 35, of AuSable Forks was charged with third-degree rape, a felony, and two misdemeanors for allegedly providing a 16-year-old boy with alcohol and having sex with him. The alleged sexual encounter occurred at a motel in Queensbury when Strong was visiting the Glens Falls area last month for a basketball tournament, said State Police Investigator Phil Mann. She is a girls’ basketball coach at Holy Name School in AuSable Forks, a private elementary school. Strong had brought her teenage son and his friends to Glens Falls for a basketball tournament, but she was not affiliated with the event as a coach, Mann said. State Police in Essex County learned of the alleged incident in Queensbury after they were called to investigate a domestic dispute between Strong and her husband in recent weeks, Mann said. The focus of the dispute were the allegations that Strong had sex with the teen.

It’s been weeks since we’ve had one of these stories.  I mean, sure there’s been a report here or there about some teacher making out with a kid or texting him boob shots.  But they were either Trailer-park-and-government-surplus-cheese-diet ugly or there were no pictures at all, and we’ve got standards to maintain.  Then, just when I’d begun to lose faith in the School Sex Scandal as an American institution, along comes Joey Strong, riding over the hill like the Calvary to save the day.  Mrs. Strong brings everything to the table we could ask for.  Pretty good pre-cougar looks, a penchant for seducing her son’s friends, the relentless tenacity to pursue her prey across county lines and drag her kid and his buddies along for the hunt, and the sheer recklessness to be caught by her husband and get caught up in a police domestic call.  Way to step up when your country needs you, Joey.

The Grades:
Looks:  Not great but pretty damn good.  She’s got those sleepy “Do Me” eyes and just the right amount of alluring bitchiness.  Your classic Lipstick Girl’s Basketball Coach.  Grade: B.
Moral Compass/Bad Judgement:  According to another report, she supplied all the Coors Light for a hotel room party of all her son’s friends before she went to town on the one she culled from the herd.  A classic Puma maneuver.  Grade: B+.
Intangibles: Joey Strong is one of the great Sex Scandal Teacher names ever.  A porn star name.  Granted, it’s a male porn start name, but still earns big credit here.  Grade: A.
