Grading the Newest Sex Scandal Teacher
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. — A former Greenfield High School music teacher now is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student at her home here. The Lawrence County prosecuting attorney charged Alison Peck, 23, with statutory sodomy and statutory rape on Monday. The Dade County prosecuting attorney charged Peck last week with two counts of statutory rape. Those charges resulted from the Greenfield student telling a Missouri State Highway Patrol detective that he and Peck had sex at a park in Dade County. He also said he visited Peck at her home in Mount Vernon and had sexual relations numerous times. The detective wrote in his probable cause statement that the boy said he started texting Peck around last Christmas. He said that led to the relationship becoming sexual. The detective said Peck, in a separate interview, basically confirmed the boy’s account. After the Dade County sheriff heard rumors about the affair in April, he asked the Highway Patrol to investigate. The school put Peck, a first-year teacher who graduated from Drury University last year, on administrative leave. She later resigned.
Let me get this straight: In Missouri, teacher/student sex cases get handled by the Highway Patrol? These have got to be the happiest Highway Patrolmen in America. Instead of spending all day riding the roads, drinking Dunkin Donuts, getting brain cancer from the radar gun, doing routine traffic stops and running people’s licenses, you get called in whenever a 16 year old kid has a story about his hot music teacher taking him home and working on his flute. Ponch and Jon would’ve given their motorcycles for a gig like this.

Moral Compass/Bad Judgement: What’s not to love? We’ve got sex, blowjobs (I’m assuming that’s what the sodomy charge is, unless Alison took it from the kid in the “Bach”), we’ve got the careless/reckless text messages and she ‘fessed up to the whole thing. Grade: A.
Intangibles: This was Alison’s first year out of teaching school. She’s a favorite to make the season ending Sex Scandal Teacher Starting Lineup, but she’s a mortal lock for Rookie of the Year. Grade: A.
