If Lebron Stabs A Guy Does He Still Get To Shoot Free Throws?

I thought for sure that Cleveland was going to win tonight after David Stern phoned in that bullshit call in favor of LeBron to end regulation.   But give Orlando credit.  They refused to cave in and dominated in OT.  Good for them.   It looks like somebody forgot to tell the Magic and Nuggets that the Finals were already determined by the league before the playoffs began.  Don’t worry though Cleveland, it wasn’t all bad news tonight.   LeBron nailed another big trick shot in warmups that I’m sure will dominate Sportscenter and overshadow his 38 turnovers in the 4th quarter.

PS - Looks like we would have smashed Cleveland after all even without KG.

If it were to pan out and both LA and Clev get eliminated Stuart Scott and Stephen A. Smith would both kill themselves.

thank you pres for mentioning this. i was losing my shit when sportscenter wouldn’t recognize how bad that call was and then howard gets pushed out of bounds on the next play with no call.

I really don’t think that was such a bad call. Pietrus was riding Lebron all the way to the basket. There were far more blatantly bad calls in the game. Like the refs somehow calling a defensive foul on Wally when Howard did a catch and elbow-swing (his patented move) toward the basket in the 4th. I rewinded like 5 times trying to figure out how it was a defensive foul. Granted, it wasn’t with 0.5 seconds left in regulation, but the fact remains – the officiating is just an absolute abomination in the NBA.

Also, the Cavs didn’t deserve to win that game with the way they (Lebron) made stupid decisions and dumb turnovers. On their 2nd to last possession, up by 1 with about 33 seconds left, Lebron just dribbles at the top til the shot clock is low then jacks up a contested 3 – the exact type of shit that blew them their 4th quarter lead in the first place, and the opposite of how they got back in the game down 7 with 4 minutes to go (driving to the basket repeatedly). Just a terrible finish by Lebron, he’s just not anywhere near Jordan’s level at this point

A lot of people say “I don’t want to see Orlando win because we should have beaten Orlando; and this would mean we could have beaten Cleveland.”

I said from the start, I think we could have a shot at Cleveland; but this is truly all about matchups.

Orlando is pretty much the worst possible matchup for them. They have NO ONE to disturb Dwight Howard. He is not that gifted offensively; which was proved when Perk could match his strength and size. Z is too slow and not strong enough to stay with him. Perk is a better defensive option over Z. Also, the Cavs simple can NOT guard both Turk and Lewis. Granted we had Big Baby/Scal guarding Lewis, but at least the size is there to force them to try and drive and into trouble. Turk or Lewis has been defended most of the series by much smaller defenders so they cannot alter their shots at all.

Thirdly, Lebron. We had NO answer for Lebron. Hence why Posey was so big last year. When Pierce comes out, who guards Lebron? He’ll dominate a smaller Ray Allen, Scal and Baby obviously aren’t staying with him. Tony Allen is THE MOST OVERRATED defender in the history of the NBA; he’s not a smart defender, and he’s too small to guard Lebron. We had no backup option to Pierce. So we put Pierce on him all series; and Pierce would become entirely useless offensively because you could see it in this playoffs that he was already out of gas from carrying the team since KG went down. We had NO answer for Lebron.

Cavs would have beaten us in 5 or 6. We matched up better against Orlando. It’s that simple.

Celine you make good points, except for your third one. Lebron is averaging 42 ppg this series, it’s not exactly like Orlando is shutting him down and the Celt’s would’ve been completely overmatched by him.

Oops…the refs just called a foul on the Magic while Lebron was brushing his teeth

» Sivart said: { May 27, 2009 - 09:05:41 }

Looks basically exactly like every call on Pierce….here is Pierce’s pet move….get the ball at the elbow, turn your shoulder into someone, take a couple dribbles toward the basket, jump back like you just got yanked by a two-ton moving truck so you can get the call and toss the ball near the hoop. But I guess that is different.

By the way, has anybody else noticed the unbelievably gorgeous girl with the giant perfect ass in the smirnoff ice commercial they keep playing (where she knocks over the bottle and the guy catches it in slow mo)? Good lord that ass is fantastic. Can’t find the commercial anywhere on the net though, somebody who knows what i’m talking about try to find it.

Offensive foul was just called on Kobe’s puppet for throwing an elbow to create room for his faglicious three cookie, three rings skit.

Seriously, I have never been so excited to see the national sports fluffers get let down. From puppetry to pontification, I have literally never seen people get down their knees and offer to rock the mic like these last few months have brought. Just picturing bird man stuffing that pasty muslim……yes…eat that nike

They called it because the defender never had position or set his feet…granted lebron shoved his elbow through the guy’s spleen and tripped over his siz 27’s ..should have just been a non call…and on the last play of the game let them play for christ sakes unless there is a blatant foul don’t call anything.

if Lebron runs an elderly woman over in front of the farmer’s market, the elderly woman’s insurance company is forced to pay for Lebron’s ruined Bentley hood ornament. And the elderly woman is charged with a flagrant 2

It doesnt look like the Magic player touched him at all…..until you look at the last angle where it is obvious that he trips him. Was the tripping inadvertent? Probably. Does it matter in the slightest? No because it is still a foul. How about all the times Lebron drove to the basket, got raped, and no foul was called? What about when the refs called the 6th foul on Varijao when he didn’t even touch Howard and it was obvious that Lebron was trying to take the foul. There were plenty of bad calls to go around. The refs were just flat out bad on both sides of the ball.
