This is the save our goalie made in the NYS semifinal game for hockey. Skip to 45 seconds and watch big screen, it makes it better. I may be biased since this is my school, but i still think its a pretty sick save with roughly 5 seconds left.
I don’t claim to be a hockey historian but all things considered that has to be one of the best saves in the history of the sport right. I mean 5 seconds left in regulation in a win or go home game and this kid robs him blind. The only way something could compare is in a Game 7 situation or the NCAA playoffs. But if a save like that exists I’ve never seen it. Kid who got stoned must want to kill himself right about now. Lift the puck Billy! Lift the puck!

Tuukka made a diving stick save all the way across the crease in OT of the playoffs last year against Buffalo. Much better than this one.

Not even in the top 100,000 saves ever. Rask made better saves last night and Thomas routinely makes better saves than that one.

Best save I have ever seen was Brian Boucher against the Devils in the 2000 playoffs.

played ice hockey all my life at very high levels…this was a great save. stop hating on the kid. makes it all the more special given only a few seconds left in the game. great athletic save. agreed that el pres doesnt know shit about hockey, but he admits that so cant fault him there

That’s a pretty filthy save to preserve the win in the state tournament semi’s. If i was that kid shooting at the open net who got stoned, i would have driven into a tree on the way home. How do you not score there?

Good save, obviously made better by the situation. Fleury’s diving stop in the dying seconds of Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals against Hall of Famer Nick Lidstrom (who actually put up a good shot) is still a better stop though.

How about that save by Marc Andre Fleury to save the Cup for the Pens, that’s pretty legit if ya ask me, maybe not the best of all time but if you consider the circumstances, it’s up there.
