Jets Player: Tebow is Terrible
NY Daily News - Tebowmania may have captivated the NFL last season, but Tim Tebow’s new team doesn’t believe that he’s a savior. More than a dozen Jets players and members of the organization painted a sobering picture of the player who rallied the Broncos to the playoffs last season. In their eyes, he’s simply not very good. The prevailing thought in the organization is that Tebow is nothing more than a gimmick. “He’s terrible,” a defensive starter told the Daily News… Left guard Matt Slauson, who has repeatedly supported Sanchez, made it clear that the fourth-year signal caller is the Jets’ best quarterback. “It’s not even close,” Slauson said. “All the other quarterbacks know it. I have all the confidence in Mark. We don’t really have a choice.” … “Hell, no!” another starter said. “You got to keep defenses honest. You just can’t line up in the Wildcat all the time. That won’t work.” … “[Tebow]’s a winner,” said a Jets source… But most members of the Jets don’t believe that what they saw from Tebow last season is sustainable. “We can’t win running that sh–,” one player said. They think Tebow’s heroics in Denver were a mirage. “Now we’re depending on miracles?” a member of the organization said. “You can’t play that way.” “Look at some of the players he’s throwing to,” a Jets official said. “It’s garbage.” Said another Jets source: “I’ve seen better receiving corps in college than we have on our team.”
It would take a heart of stone not to laugh. Remember back at the beginning of the season when the Jets were all butthurt because they were being called a circus? And after they put up 48 on Buffalo in Week 1 they said that motivated them because this was the year they were going to stop shooting their mouths off and trash talking and… well, acting like a circus? Well that sound you hear is calliope music, elephants roaring and little motorized cars filled with clowns. Now I’m sure the few remaining hardcore-loyal Jets fans are waiting and hoping that this thing will bottom out eventually. But as someone who watched the 2011-2012 Red Sox, I’m here to tell them: Once this nonsense starts, there is no bottom. It’s one big Sarlaac pit where you will learning the meaning of pain and suffering as you are slowly digested over an entire season. Once you start getting anonymous sources finger pointing, protecting their own and ripping people behind their backs, you can just keep free falling forever. One anonymous source calls Tebow “a winner” (undoubtedly the owner). Another anonymous source says he’s “terrible” (could be any defensive starter, but Antonio Cromartie is a Person of Interest). Yet another tries to pump Sanchez tires by calling the receivers “garbage” (Rex Ryan?). It’s one big, giant circular firing squad and the kind of clusterfucky mess anyone with a brain in his head could see coming when they brought in a transcendent, charismatic Christ-like figure in to back up a quarterback utterly lacking in confidence. Everyone apparently but the guy who’s still calling him “a winner” when the rest of the organization thinks he’s garbage. The one thing anyone said here that everyone can agree on is the guy saying they’re depending on a miracle. They ought to make him GM. Couldn’t happen to a better organization. @JerryThornton1

hahahaha, that garbage QB beat their circus just last year….hahahahaha
anyone who uses the term “butthurt” is a faggot. thornton is easily the biggest chump on the stool
Is it possible to score fewer points than Sanchez did on Sunday?
This is why the Daily News will always be behind the Post. Knicks are 5-0 and they print some bullshit back cover story on the second string quarterback for an irrelevant football team.
animal, your right, but its not just the daily news. espn has been leading with it all morning… sports news is becoming TMZ
Give Tim Tebow one game. Let him start one game, and he will make Mark Sanchez look like shit.
The Jets have their heads up their asses. Why they still want Mark Sanchez taking snaps is beyond me. Sanchez is awful, but none of them will ever admit it.
you have to feel just a little bad for Tebow…guy never gets to play, when he does he goes 100% and tries to pump everybody up, seems like a good enough dude, but then he gets trashed anonymously by his own teammates…I don’t see Tebow giving interviews saying he should be starting over Sanchez…he really does nothing to deserve the attention he gets (good or bad) he also does nothing to call that attention to himself, not his fault our society is fucking fascinated if you’ve never put your dick in a girl before…bizarre stuff
Is it me, or do the Jets constantly have anonymous players talking shit in the media. Speaks to the character in that locker room.
Won’t be long before they get a quote from the anonymous Head Coach of the Jets trashing Tim.
i think the jets should just pretend they are in the football version of the movie “slapshot” and simply embrace the shitshow.
@herbie Coach Reggie Dunlap had a plan and it worked–they were the champions of the Federal League! Rex is just an idiot going nowhere.
@bloody i guess that would mean rex would need to become a player/coach which i would pay about 2 million internet dollars to see
yeah, Tebow was real bad for Denver last year. the Jets suck.
As a long time NFL/Pats fan I’m not sure what makes me happier: watching the Pats win or watching the JETS be the JETS. …Oh wait or Dog Killer Vick getting his 3 brain cells rattled around…
@scurvy – he actually did suck for basically 3 qtrs a game last year for Denver, if it wasnt for their D playing out of their minds most of the year (and having to be on the field way more than the offense was) his late game heroics would have been irrelevant. pretty sure he was still completing less than 50% of his throws
Let tebow play and lets end this convo for good
their just realizing this now?
I can see how they get the idea that that “running shit” doesn’t work. It’s not like Tebow led that crappy Denver team to the playoffs or anything, and achieved half as many playoff wins they have in the last decade after taking over mid-season. As a Pats fan..stick with Sanchez boys.
Bottom line is Jet players have packed it in. They do not want Tebow in there only because they know at the very least he is going to give 110 percent and make them all look worse then they are.
Anonymous. That says it all.
butthurt……tight butthole dude, real tight.
And it takes an NFL teammate to state the obvious??? File that under ‘dog bites man’ as far as news goes
@midnightm, its from workaholics you shpag
