I really thought the Celtics were going to win tonight. I really did. And a part of me thought that we would give the Cavs everything they could handle and more in the next round. But I guess I was wrong. I guess I was thinking more with my heart than my head. Because tonight’s game really left no doubt about who the better team was in this series. It was Orlando. The losses of KG and Leon Powe finally caught up to us. Maybe James Posey too. So as much as it sucks, it’s a little easier to swallow knowing we weren’t going to win the title anyway. It’s not like there is this sense that we missed a huge opportunity or anything like that. These guys played their balls off and went as far as they could go. Bottom line is that if we couldn’t get by Orlando in a Game 7 at home then we definitely wouldn’t have beaten Cleveland in the next round or the Lakers in the Finals. So maybe it’s better it ended tonight? Because as much as I wanted to win this series I don’t hate Orlando, but I do hate the Cavs and the Lakers. So if we were just going to get steam rolled in the next round then this may be the better way to die. Rather than let Lebron beat up on us at 1/2 strength and dance all over our faces while they do it,  let’s wait till next year when we have our full team back and then we’ll see who the bigger man is.

Now if Orlando somehow beats Cleveland then I’ll have to reevaluate everything I just wrote.
