Let the “Start Tim Tebow” Debate Begin!
NY Post – An angry Rex Ryan said yesterday he is not ready to make a quarterback change. He should make one. Bring on Tim Tebow. At this point Tebow, who saved the Broncos season last year, can’t be any worse than the jittery Mark Sanchez. Perhaps the Jets will get some leadership from the most important position on the field. The Jets were manhandled in every way possible yesterday in a disastrous 34-0 loss to the much more physical 49ers at MetLife Stadium… Well, how about if the team uses [Tebow] as a motivating force to get Sanchez going or maybe Tebow pulls off another football miracle like he did last year in Denver? …Put Tebow at starting quarterback, Rex, and let the chips fall where they may.
So if you had October 1st in your “When Will We Start Hearing ‘It’s Time to Start Tebow’ Talk?” pool, you can come collect your winnings. I have to admit, I thought it would be much sooner than this. I had it pegged at Week 1 or possibly 2. By the end of September at the very least. And of course I’m not talking about callers to The Fan. I’m sure Marty from Nyack and Sal from Long Island were saying this stuff in the first week of camp. But for the NY media to wait this long? That’s some remarkable restraint right there. Granted a good first game earned Sanchez a honeymoon. But it was only a matter of time before some newspaper hack would be clamoring for a change and saying what the Jets need is Tebow’s leadery leadershipness and magical Divine Powers to start pulling off miracles like he did in 2011 and the New Testament. And ignoring the fact that the only passer in the NFL less accurate than Sanchize is the guy backing him up. Well it took until October, but it’s finally here.
Which brings me to my next point. Are we almost to the point where Jets aren’t worth making fun of any more? Like most of you I caught Shrex post game presser about giving the team until Wednesday to report back so they can “do some soul searching.” (Which takes a lot more than two days when you’ve got no soul, but I digress.) And he was a man defeated. So for a dose of schadenfreude I checked out Barstool New York and KFC is dropping his weapon and coming quietly, and started to worry they’re taking all the sport out of it. I mean, a lion will still eat a gazelle, but it’s more fun to chase one down that’s trying to outrun you than have him just lay on the grass and expose his jugular. It just tastes better they put up a fight. I can forgive them for building a team around punks, deluding themselves they’re great and running their mouths all the time. But I can’t forgive them for taking all the fun out of tooling on them. Hopefully this Tebow business gives them some hope. At least seeing it dashed will be better than watching them quit. They owe me at least that.
@JerryThornton1

And yet they still have the same record as you…
I can’t believe Santonio Holmes did that on a foot injury. Diabolical.
dewitt(less), what odds would you need to be given to bet $500 that that the Jets end up with a better record than the Patriots? 5-1? 10-1? 100-1? Seriously.
dimwitt, you are one delusional fuck
Hey Jerry, I gurantee you 90% of your readers think that schadenfreude is some type or German lager, can you keep it low brow please, this ain’t a creative writing class
Its OK Jets fans, you still have 2 Super Bowls against The Pats left!
Fuck Tebow, Start McIlroy!!
Hey Dewitt, 34-0.
I agree with Jerry’s argument. What makes mocking Jerry so enjoyable is that he genuinely believes that he is funny and that his input has value. It’s fun because he doesn’t realize that he’s pathetic. The day he accepts the fact that he is nothing more that a poor shlub, a dinosaur in a modern age, Willie Loman with a laptop, is the day that making fun of him will stop being funny. And that is going to be a sad day for me.
We should be holding our tongues as Pats fans. Dec 16th those same Niners will be in Foxboro, and while I don’t see a 30 point blowout, that WILL be the toughest team they play in the regular season. Niners are no joke in ’12!
Jets are pathetic. Still, you’re obsession with them, to the point of writing essays longer than those of KFC, is more pathetic. Hate the rival more than you love your own team. You and El Pres are perfect together
Thanks for the GIF – Niners D is just silly. Although it was the Jets, so it was sort of like donkey punching a retard…..or chili dogging….whatever. SF is again the team to beat in the NFL!
The obsession with the Jets is very weird.

West Coast teams don’t usually fair very well up in New England in December. Also Houston is the best team on the Pats schedule
