(not the guy but at the same time probably the guy)
Source – A jogger taking a smoke break while out for his evening run Monday was mugged on the lawn of Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College. The Bowling Green man told city police that he took a break from his run to smoke a cigarette under a tree on the front lawn of the school at 1845 Loop Drive, according to Bowling Green Police Department records. He saw two men sitting on a nearby bench who approached and asked him for a cigarette. The man gave each of the men a cigarette, and they engaged in small talk before one of the men began grabbing at the man’s clothes, according to the police report. The jogger attempted to fight off the man, who grabbed the victim’s wallet from his front pants pocket. The man took the $7 inside the jogger’s wallet and his remaining cigarettes, the report said. The jogger managed to get his wallet back from the robber. The jogger immediately ran home and called police, who canvassed the area. The victim described the robber as a black man in his mid-20s with short hair, about 6 feet, 1 inch to 6 feet, 3 inches tall with a medium build and wearing a Donovan McNabb jersey and black shorts, according to police records. The victim told police that the other man with the robber was not involved in the theft. The case remains open.
I have no idea who this smoking jogger is but I already know we’re best friends. See my biggest problem with running or working out in general is that I’d rather be smoking a cigarette. You give me a choice between a leg press and a Marlboro and I’ll ask you for a lighter. Is it healthy? No. But is it way easier and cooler looking? Yes. There’s always been that struggle to balance smoking and athletics in my life. But after reading this story, I now see that I’ve been making a big deal out of nothing. I can just seamlessly combine the two. Go jogging with a cigarette. Play pickup hoops with a butt in my mouth. Just live my athletic career like the kicker in The Replacements. Maybe find some other bros who are down and start a smoking athlete crew. As long as we don’t get robbed every time we’re working out, I don’t see how it could be a bad idea.
