NFL.com – Tom Brady can move the New England Patriots’ offense so quickly, it looks illegal.  Or at least close to illegal, according to New York Jets linebacker Calvin Pace. “It’s borderline illegal because sometimes the guys aren’t always set when they snap the ball,” Pace said Wednesday… The Jets have bad memories of the Patriots’ up-tempo attack. New York was badly burned by it the last time these teams met, in Week 10 last season. The Jets couldn’t get their proper personnel on the field as Brady picked apart a gassed unit. The 37-16 pasting propelled New England to another AFC East title.

Ah, there it is.  That’s what the doctor ordered.  Remember how Rocky kept letting Clubber Lang hit him on purpose to knock some Eye of the Tiger into himself?  How he wasn’t getting beat, he was getting mad?  Well there’s nothing like a little Jets mouthoffery to slap me out of the daze I’ve been in all week.  Sure, we’ve already had Rex Ryan promising the Jets will win, which if any other coach said it would be the topic of the week around the league.  And if Belichick said it would be the biggest controversy since the Emancipation Proclamation.  But since the big gasbag has basically become a cartoon character, no one listens to a word he says anymore.

No, I need more this week.  Something on the order of Darrelle Revis calling Belichick “a jerk” or Antonio “The Father of Our Country” Cromartie saying Tom Brady is an asshole.  Well since this is the Jets, we didn’t have to wait long.  Now it’s Calvin Pace saying that the Pats are getting away with Illegal Motion penalties that everyone but him is missing.  That’s the replacement Refauxrees, the real refs, the NFL, opposing coaches, TV crews, you, me and 300 million other Americans all seem to have missed.  Well who are we gonna believe? Calvin Pace or our lyin’ eyes?  So there you have it: The Patriots Warp Factor 12 Offense explained.  It’s not a glimpse into the future of the NFL.  It’s not the next great evolutionary leap forward in offense like some are suggesting.  It’s just plain old ordinary cheating.  Thanks for that Cal.  The bulletin board was looking a little bare this week.  @JerryThornton1
