KEENE, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man who said he had cancer and set up a fake donation site has pleaded guilty to fraud. Logan Henry was found guilty Tuesday of theft by deception. WMUR-TV reports police said the 26-year-old Henry set up a website called “Help Logan Henry” in which he claimed to be a down-on-his luck cancer patient. He raised nearly $3,800. Henry actually had been out of work since 2010 from a shoulder injury. Henry said he will pay the money back.

Why is this a crime? It makes no fucking sense to me. So Logan here lied about having cancer and started a charity and made $3,800 off it. Big deal. Seriously. He earned it as far as I’m concerned. Do your thing bro. Like what did that Bus Lady who’s probably a quadrillionaire by now do to deserve all that money that this kid didn’t? She got made fun of a bit. I’m sure Logan Henry had to deal with his fair share of chemo jokes. And those things sting, ask Neil. So I say let the kid keep the money. If you’re dumb enough to give your money to a charity started by some college kid with “cancer” then you kinda don’t deserve it anyway. The only people who get worked up about this shit are the same people who would freak out if they learned that homeless dude they just gave a buck to isn’t actually a veteran or sober. Don’t hate the playa, hate the game.

PS – reader who sent this said he’s friends with the kid on Facebook and he used to have status updates like “cancer sucks!” I found that hilarious. Talk about selling it.
