Boston.com - Rob Gronkowski kept his shirt on at tonight’s Celtics-Lakers game, appearing on the Jumbotron during the first half along with Patriots teammates Vince Wilfork, Julian Edelman, and Tiquan Underwood. Team owner Robert Kraft was also in attendance. The Patriots got a deserved standing ovation from the TD Garden crowd, a crowd that was appreciative of the team’s Super Bowl run despite the loss.

And there you have it: Everything you need to know about the heart  and mind of the Masshole sports fan in three sentences.  While the whole world thinks we’re comparing Wes Welker to Bill Buckner and Gisele to Yoko Ono or that we’re bitching about Gronk’s dancing and how inadequate they were, we’re giving them standing O’s the first chance we get.  Because we know the difference between a team that’s earned our scorn and ridicule (the 2011 Red Sox) and one that deserves our gratitude for a maximum effort (these Patriots).  This is why I’d hate to be from any other city.

And let this be a warning to those corporate criminals at Pawngo who pulled that Butterfingers stunt. You might as well have dumped toxic sludge into the Quabbin.  If you ever try to open a branch office in Boston, your ass is grass.  We’ll fight it like you’re the Ground Zero mosque or WalMart on the Cape.  These colors don’t run.  @JerryThornton1
