(CBS) – Earlier this offseason Patriots wisely gave Gronkowski a contract extension since he’s one of the two best tight ends on the planet. But as uncle Ben reminds us: “With great power comes great responsibility.” Put another way: New England has kindly asked that Gronk tone it down. And not just a little — all the way. Details via the Boston Globe’s Shalise Manza Young. “After posing nude for ESPN The Magazine’s ‘Body Issue’ and partying at events for the issue and the ESPYs (Gronkowski was up for two awards but was shut out),” Young wrote Sunday, “and co-hosting ‘Access Hollywood Live’ in recent days — things that seem un-Patriot-like — don’t be surprised if he lays low for the next couple of weeks. Via a league source, Gronkowski has been told by the team that his summer of Gronk, so to speak, is over.”

This is kind of a joke right?   You can’t tell Gronk to tone down his offseason.  He’s just doing what he always does.  This Summer of Gronk is no different than the last summer when nobody knew who he was and he was doing the same exact thing except we were the only ones blogging about it.  This is just what he does whether he’s making league minimum or he’s making 54 million and cameras are following him everywhere.   Who’s he hurting? So he’s drinking some beers in zubaz and fucking some Barstool girls and partying at the ESPYs. What’s wrong with that? Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do? It’s not like he’s gotten a DUI or started a dog fighting ring or murdered anybody. He just likes to party rock. You can tell Gronk to tone it down but that’s like telling the sun not to set. He’ll be at training camp and he’ll be in shape and he’ll dominate this season. But goddammit he’s gonna blackout and fuck chicks in the meantime. Can’t do anything but respect that. Kraft wants Gronk to tone it down? Fuck you, pussy. Nut up or move on.
