Rapelisberger Gets 6 Game Suspension, Steelers Now Talking Trade
NFL.com – The Pittsburgh Steelers have stepped up their efforts to trade two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who received a six-game suspension Wednesday for violating the NFL’s personal-conduct policy. The Steelers had a brief conversation with the St. Louis Rams over the weekend, according to a league source, but the Rams weren’t interested in taking on Roethlisberger. The Steelers wanted to send Roethlisberger to the Rams as part of a package to move up to No. 1 overall in this week’s draft and select Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford. The Steelers remain open to dealing Roethlisberger, but they want decent value in return. Given the six-game suspension and the limited interest in Roethlisberger, team sources now view a deal as extremely remote, if not impossible. They never viewed it as likely from the onset, but they were extremely open to it. If the Steelers were somehow able to unload Roethlisberger, his new team would have to take on his suspension.
I love this. Lord help me, how I love it so. Here the Steelers are saddled with the ultimate in NFL damaged goods. A serial rapist who’ll miss more than 1/3 of next season, and a public relations nightmare, so they’re desperately trying to dump him. And what do they ask for? Gee, just the 1st overall pick in the draft. Sure, no problem. Why not just ask the Rams to throw in their 2nd rounder plus Steven Jackson, the Super Bowl trophy, the Gateway Arch and Albert Puljos while they’re at it. I know this, it’s going to be awfully tough trying to win in the first month-and-a-half of the season with Charlie Batch at QB. But it’s going to be even harder when Rapelisberger comes back watching him trying to move in the pocket with a Sex Offender GPS unit on his ankle. Good luck with that.

The punter, Dan Sepulveda told a local reporter the other day that he has had a locker next to Ben on game day for the past 3-years and Ben hasnt said one word, literally one word, to him in 3-years.
A few months back, before this recent scandal, a bar owner that owns a bar near Ben’s house was quoted in the paper as saying that he can no longer root for the Steelers with Ben as their QB because Ben treats his staff like shit, never tips, refuses to pay cover charges, etc.
Plus, every game, he acts like he is sooooo injures so that if he plays well, he is a hero, if he doesnt, he has an excuse.
