Rate This High School Run: James Wilder Jr Runs Over 3 Dudes

Rivals -Wilder is the son of former NFL star running back James Wilder. But no, we can’t recall Wilder – or any other NFL player – doing this. On the way to the end zone, Wilder knocks over three defenders simultaneously, as if they were bowling pins. He gets turned around, but that doesn’t matter, he spins out of it and works his way down the field for the score. And let’s be clear, this was a top-notch defense from as good a high school football state as there is. The play came last weekend in the Florida 5A state final against Manatee, the team that shut down the seemingly unstoppable and defending national champion St. Thomas Aquinas the week before.

Nice run.   Looks like me in Pop Warner.

Prez, it’s about time you post something today. I’m the only guy working today and I’m bored as shit. I’ve been hitting refresh on your site for like 3 hours.

I would say he knocked over two defenders and the third tripped clumsily over the fallen players. Still an impressive run.

Where’s the wake-up?

Give some credit to the monster double block at the end of the run too. These kids don’t look like high schoolers in the slightest.

Agreed. The holidays are particularly painful for Stoolies. Thank God that Redtube.com doesn’t take vacations.

Good tough run, but more a case of poor tackling. Notice how none of the Defenders even made an attempt to wrap their arms. Terrible tackling mechanics they’re teaching these days. Every kid just wants to make the big knockout hit. Taking the guy down comes in a distant second!

Great run – terrible effort in tackling.

Watch the NFL too. It seems like tackling is a lost art. Everyone goes for the interception or the big hit. Wrapping up and bringing down is out. The last few years have been frustrating as hell to watch leaguewide if you like defense. Poor tackling is all over the place. Cornerbacks and safeties have completely given it up. How many receptions followed by long runs do you see? It’s a joke. I think the players know they risk injury and the number of interceptions and highlight film hits is where their agents can point to for more money for them. It gets a little better at playoff time usually but is awful compared to the solid fundamental play of years past.

first two smashed into each other. third guy just sucks at life and closed his eyes and hoped he tripped the RB. Nice run but hardly impressive
