Santonio Holmes Tells the NY Press They Need to Only Say Positive Things About the Jets
The Jets’ Santonio Holmes on NFL.com – “If you guys want to be, and this is for the New York media, if you guys want to be a part of our team and want to feel so important, be there to support us, not to try to break us down. …Because (there’s) not one day that we all step in that locker room and we try to break each other down, that we talk bad about the way that person played because it affects the team the way one person plays if they don’t play to perfection… If the New York media wants to be a part of our team and wants to continue writing about us, write positive things, stay away from the negative because it doesn’t do anything good for our team that you want to report all the negative things that happen and that’s all you want to talk to us players about. We live for one thing and that’s to play football and not to entertain you people in the media.”
I swear if the Rex Ryan version of New York Jets didn’t exist, you’d have to invent them. I mean, plenty of teams have rivals. But what other team in any other sport besides the Pats can claim a division opponent that’s as utterly, consistently and preposterously goofy as the Jets are? Read through what Holmes is saying here. Let it sink in. This would be laughable coming from anybody. But this is from a guy who flat out quit on his team last year, by any definition of the word. In their last game he stopped running routes. He yelled at his Mark Sanchez in the huddle. Then refused to listen to plays. He finally got yanked off the field by his OC before he got someone killed, went to the sidelines, sat by himself and wouldn’t talk to anyone. Oh, and did I mention that he openly undermined his QB in public, drew an unsportsmanlike for an end zone celebration with his team losing by 18 points, and was such a gawdawful captain that Ryan has decided to do away with captaincies altogether? And that he’s playing for a team that hasn’t won anything since his father was in diapers? THAT Santonio Holmes is telling the press in New York to support the team and not try to break them down because they don’t try to break each other down and to only write positive things and to stay away from the negative things that happen because it doesn’t do any good for the team and besides they’re not there to entertain anyone. It’s so nonsensical that it’s brilliant. Just the perfect blend of stupidity, cluelessness and pretzel logic. And that’s why there’s not another team in the NFL I’d rather have going up against the Pats twice year. I NEED the Jets. They complete me. They’re the Joker to our Batman. As Jean Girard would say even Diane Sawyer needed Katie Couric. I’m glad Santonio Holmes is our Katie Couric.
PS. Once again I find myself saying: Imagine for one second the reaction if someone on the Pats said this. @JerryThornton1

For the fifth year in a row. JETS JETS GAY. WE DON’T BELIEVE YOU, YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE.
First of all you suck. I understand its getting old that everyone keeps saying that besides prez and KFC everyone else sucks but you all honestly do. Second of all we don’t have to wonder what if the Pats said this because it wouldn’t matter the press in Boston aren’t parasites that would blow everything out of proportion as the New York media does. Third of all if Bellicheck tried that stupid one word boring answers in New York the media would despise him and look for every reason to kill him. Fans would prob still like him because the guy wins and is a great coach but that’s not what media cares about they care about headlines. Fourth Ryan has only one time in 3 years “predicted a superbowl” the other two were made up by the media when the question was asked can you win the superbowl and he said yes. That’s far from a guarantee. Fifth, again you are awful at your job.
i hate the jets and i still hate this article. why does jerry thornton still have a job? i feel like he’s like an old racehorse that clearly is the worst in the field and is painful to watch but no one has the heart to put down because they feel bad. well, if no one wants to get their hands dirty, hand me the shotgun. c’mon jerry, what do you say we go take a walk in the woods pal…
@Bradyblowsbelicheat, you couldn’t be more wrong. Boston media aren’t parasites that blow everything out of proportion? Fuck planet do you live on?
Jerry, you’re about a day late and a dollar short with this story bud. Coming from a Giants fan who’s just tired of fucking reading about something that all of NY sports absolutely smashed and killed Holmes over all LAST WEEK. Keep up with the times you buddy holly hair lip lookin mother fucker.
Gotta support the team
Got no problem with Jerry and his pats articles Go Pats!
if only the pats could figure out how to beat the giants
If you get that worked up over a Jerry blog then you’re probably a weird dork in real life. I’m lookin at you Bradyblows, you obnoxious faggot.
hahaha. PATS LOST THE SUPERBOWL. TO ELI MANNING. TWICE. IN 4 YEARS.
Hey Sanchezisdamanchez, the Pats have been to the super bowl as many times in the past four years as the jets have been in their entire history. Jets fans would cream their shorts to lose to the giants in the super bowl.
@sanchezisdamanchez… The only thing a true Jets fan hates more than the pats is the giants. So if your a Jets fan bringing up how the Giants beat a team that we couldn’t and how that makes you happy you are pathetic and not a real Jet fan. When the pats win the only place I have to hear about it is on ESPN and this site but when the Giants win you have to hear about it every time you go to a bar, or the office, or from family members untill the next season starts.
@otwisted the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald have a total of 14 sports writers, while the New York Post and New York Daily News have a total of 34. Im not saying they don’t do investigative journalism up there in Boston just by the numbers alone stories get leaked and blown way more out of proportion
Don’t mind the haters jer, you’re too good for this site. Granted you don’t totally fit because you don’t blog about enough stupid shit, but your pats articles might be the only proofread writing on the boston site.
