Should Everybody Who Went To Bruce Springsteen Last Night Get A Refund Because He Didn’t Play Born In the USA?
So Springsteen was at Fenway last night. Word on the street is that he didn’t play Born in the USA. Flat out unacceptable. Like if I went last night I wouldn’t have left until I got my money back. Yeah I know he’s playing Fenway again tonight and I’m sure he will play it, but it doesn’t matter. Nuts and bolts if you went last night you got screwed. Because when you go to a Bruce Springsteen concert you are signing a social contract that he plays Born In the USA. If not he might as well just be stealing money right out of your wallet. I just hate when artists do this. Try to get all artsy fartsy on you. You think anybody gives a fuck that you play your best songs 2 nights in a row or at every concert you do? That’s why people are going dude. Anyway since I’m a fan of the Boss I’m just going to assume Larry Lucchino had something to do with this. Forbid him from playing it last night to force people to buy tickets for tonight to hear it. Any other reason is beyond my comprehension.

Bring back Jenna
He hardly ever plays Born In The USA because it’s just not a good song at all, and he did play Glory Days last night fuckhead.
your a dumbass. he did play glory days and he rarely plays Born in the USA in America. He always plays it overseas. get your facts right.
Springsteen is notorious for not playing the classics. The Tour after 9/11 was the worst. Saw him at Gillette or CMGI Field. Played about 20 songs and didn’t hit any old ones till the encore.
His “music” does nothing for me. If I wanted to hear a old maniac scream, I’d go to BSS headquarters at 11 a.m., when the interns start rolling into work.
Why does Stevie van Zandt insist on dressing like a gypsy palm reader?
born in the usa is great but with so many songs in his arsenal that are 10x better than that song why would he? he played it so much from 84 on he would just rather play all his other stuff. the stuff thats better.
glory days is the faggiest song ever
springsteen is so unbelievably overrated
Born In The USA is one of his worst songs. The only reason it’s popular is because its about ‘Murica. Other than that, it’s a crappy song.
pedro, springsteen is overated to anyone who thinks his big hit songs are born in usa, born to run, glory days, hungry heart etc. That shit is terrible. His other earlier songs and darker stuff is fucking fantastic.
I agree with Pedro on Glory Days, shit is straight corny.
yawn – nice trolling attempt.
must be a slow day at stool World HQ.
Glory Days is awesome, Born in the USA is a great pop hit, but to call either of them his “best songs” is like saying Emotional Rescue defined the Stones. Great songs, but if you like Springsteen just about every song pre 1984 is better than those two. Stick to Lambert, dude.
Springsteen is a bit overrated. Maybe not as overrated as roger waters but close. Those guys should hang em up already. 6 year vet jack white has the rock game sewed anyway.
he did play glory days you fuck

Why is Silvio on stage with that dude from the 80s my fat aunt liked?
Damn bro you are so right about Springsteen. Your knowledge of music is awesome. Tell me more about Sam Adams again?
Anyone who says Springsteen is overrated clearly worships at the alter of fucking Fleetwood Mac or someone like that. There isn’t anyone close to his lyrical ability. Such a troll thing to say. Yeah Glory Days is such a bad song, it only represents every human fucking emotion every working class guy has when they hit a certain age. So dumb. Troll, troll, troll.
I saw him in SF years ago and he didn’t play it. As others have already pointed out, I think it’s a rarity, not a rule. Smarten up Portnoy.
1. Adam Raised a Cain
2. Thunder Road
3. The Promised Land
4. Badlands
5. Livin’ in the Future
Fact.
If you’re talking about Born to Run you have a point. By Born in the USA is a pop song that’s not even in his top 20
I believe what most people like about Springsteen shows is the opportunity to hear different stuff. I love a guy like Tom Petty but I have to admit there’s something less exciting when he plays literally the same setlist every night. Born in the USA itself had 7 top 10 singles so if Bruce want’s to mix it up he can’t just play all his hits. It is to keep it interesting for people who see more than one show in a year or even in their life.
“A+” on grammar and spelling. “F” for “fuckstick” on music knowledge. Top 3 Bruce shows lifetime and I’m not even that big of a fan. You should go tonight and complain.
He didn’t play glory days at all from like 1999-2010 so doesn’t surprise me
Born in the USA is about a vet who comes back from Nam and gets shit on. Always thought it was funny that it turned into this American anthem that gets played at big sporting events.
I mean born in usa
Glorified bar band.
Dude plays 30-35 songs a show and with fenway getting two shows he is not going to play born in the usa twice.
There will probably be 10-12 repeats from last night’s show tonight .
pathfinder, livin in the future? really?
Almost every song on Born To Run alone is better than those two songs – and I like both those songs. Then three quarters of The River, most of Darkness, NY City Serenade is friggin genius, as is Rosalita, Incident on 57th street, all from E Street Shuffle, all of Greetings is on par…
@mcchay – well played. Tell us more about how great that first Sam Adams album was again Pres.
Bruce is a fucking homo
Born In The USA is easily his most overrated song…if he didn’t play Badlands I’d have a problem…but yeah Born In The USA actually kind of sucks
So you didn’t go last night, but you did go to Backstreet Boys and Lambert.
Tell me again why you even fucking try to comment on music
i wouldn’t pay a nickel to see this chump in my living room
Whitney, I guess I’m just nostalgic about the big man. I loved his solo in Livin’ In the Future

pdoddy–word. Asbury Park and Wild, Innocent, E Street are his two best in my opinion. Born in the USA blows as a song and an album compared to those two gems.
Only thing worse than Springsteen’s pretentious dickead fans are Dave Mathews pretentious dickhead fans. Nobody gives a fuck how many times you saw them.
No they should be shot for listening to that un-American prick
Springsteen is about as American as you get
@otwisted: It really sucks how they all refer to him as “Dave” or “DMB” and quote his stupid songs. Dave Matthews strikes me as one of those douchenozzles who always sat on the quad of his college playing his guitar.
Bruce springsteen sucks. End of story.
Anyone who says Springsteen sucks has never seen him in concert. I’ve seen him once. Guy sweats his ass off for 3+ hours. Whether you like his music or not, he earns his paycheck. Oh and he stays out of trouble, off drugs, remains relevant, etc. Can’t hate on a guy for that.
And if you don’t see the pure genius in Born in the USA, that’s your loss. Not the best song ever, but the message is brilliant.
The man is a lyrical genius, and puts on one of the best concerts after 30 plus years of touring. Everyone calling him overrated, I’d love to know who you listen to.
Springsteen is great but have you ever actually heard the lyrics to “born in the usa”? It doesn’t exactly praise the US…everybody just hears the “born in the usa” chorus and goes nuts
You call yourself a Bruce ‘fan’ but if you’re going to a Bruce concert to hear Born In The USA then you should just stay at home and listen to Bruce’s Greatest Hits. Bruce played a solid set last night and an all time show on night two without an appearance of Born In The USA.
