and to add about the competition in these games, Lithuania won the bronze in 1992, and they sure as hell had better players than team Russia in this competition. Kirilenko is nice and all, but he’s nothing compared to the talent that Lithuania had.

as for the “9 players with NBA experience” on Spain’s roster maybe 3 of them actually have any impact in the league, the rest are bench warmers or barely role players. you could find plenty of those in the rosters of the 92 teams the US faced but for whatever reasons (communism, lack of international scouting) never played in the NBA
