Well with 2013 in the books I wanted to take a quick second to thank all the Stoolies for your unwavering support not only this year but for the last decade. It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 fucking years of doing this. It’s hard to believe that Barstool has grown from a newspaper that I handed out at 5am every morning outside Tstations to the lifestyle brand it is today. I never imagined in my wildest dreams it would get this big. Never dreamed we’d have 6 city sites up and running. Never dreamed people would be holding Viva La Stool signs coast to coast at every major sporting event. That we’d have the team of writers we’ve assembled today. To be honest it’s gone by in the blink of the eye. We’ve caught so many lucky breaks along the way I can’t even remember them all. The only thing I know for sure is that without the Stoolies Barstool never would have had a chance.

People always ask me what I did to make Barstool work. I honestly have no clue. The only thing I say is that we’re just normal fucking dudes and we don’t pretend to be anything we’re not. We like sports, girls, and busting balls. We don’t sugar coat what we say. We don’t give a flying fuck what the PC Police think. We are what we are. If you like it great. If you hate it great. That’s what’s worked for us. In a way I think we speak for the silent majority. Like if somebody says they are a Stoolie you instantly know it’s a guy you would have been buddies with if he went to your high school or college. That’s what I think binds us together. Just the average fucking slug fighting through their miserable lives trying to pass the time by laughing at shit and enjoying life the best they can. But when the chips are down the Stoolies prove time and time again that they are there. Doesn’t matter whether it’s the military, the marathon bombings, dogs, or Pete’s Plunge. Our guys are the guys that make this country great and without you we’d be nowhere so thank you.

Seriously though. Buy a shirt.
