The Refs Families Wore Bulls Gear to the Game

Boston.comAn NBA source pointed out before the game that two of the referees were Chicago natives (Bill Kennedy and Dan Crawford). Kennedy also was involved in an incident with Rivers during the Bulls’ St. Patrick’s Day win in which both were fined by the league for jawing. The source also said that after the game family members of both referees departed wearing Bulls gear.

This explains a lot.  Like how with a 2 point lead and :26 left in the 2nd overtime, John Salmons was given a about a minute and a half to inbounds the ball with no turnover called.  Or how Paul Pierce got called for a ticky tack foul with the game on the line after a clean steal of the inbounds.  It’s because the refs and their families are Bulls fans.  I mean, why not just have John Paxson and Scottie Pippen ref the game?  And what are the chances any of that Bulls gear was paid for?  But I’m sure the league will do nothing about this.  After all, it’s not like an NBA official could ever get bought off.

Scottie Pippen would actually love to ref if you promised to pay him in cash.

add yet another asterisk to this series if the Bulls win (first being *No Garnett; second being *No Powe)

The NBA is the WWE. No other sport blatantly extends series like the NBA does. I’m not blaming the refs for the loss, but if anyone out there thinks these games are clean, well then you must have a big dump in your pants.

Family members of both referees departed wearing Bulls gear and 2 blocks down they were robbed of it.

Already with excuses? You haven’t even lost the series yet.

P.S. Bulls fans could say the same about shitty refs in Game 1.

Cuthead-

Eat a dick. Go post on some loser Chicago sports website. Oh yeah, that’s right, you pussies don’t have one

A rash makes for a cranky baby, way to take care of it so quickly.

Cuthead, your Bulls should be embarassed. They can’t beat an aging, beat-up Celts team that is without KG and Leon Powe. The Celts have Big Baby playing 40 minutes a game and our best subs are Brian Scalabrine, Mikki Moore, and Stephon Marbury, who can’t hit a shot to save his life. Mikki F’ing Moore!

Plus, the ugliest woman alive, Joakim Noah, is on your team. How embarassing for you to have to cheer for her. What happened? Did all the teams in the WNBA pass her up so the Bulls had to draft her?

» slapntickle said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 12:04:19 }

el pres was happy for the “bulls being cute” and making the series entertaining and NOW the crying starts. I knew we couldn’t go one loss without some excuses.

» windycitywoodrow said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 12:04:32 }

Who’s the Celtics version of Noah? I swear I saw Noah change uniforms late in the game.

» parfore18beers said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 12:04:46 }

Big Baby had a great flop yesterday but what’s up with the instant replay now. If they used it when Dennis Rodman was around, 90% of all the charges he took would be overturned.

The NBA is the WWE.

That’s really what it’s all about. The refs are a joke in the NBA. Imagine how much shenanigans has gone on before they finally HAD to do something about Donaghy’s gambling.

This isn’t the Celtics year, too many injuries and the NBA loves it because it would be more difficult to make sure that the Lakers/Cavs finals happens. The NBA needs that series. The refs job now is to extend playoff series as long as possible-there is just too much money involved.

The play yesterday that seemed blatant was John Salmons on the 2nd OT inbound. Haven’t seen it reviewed anywhere but how long did he have the ball? It just looked ridiculous. I hope KG comes back strong for a run next year.

no chi-town today? those 11th grade teachers are tough to get the i-phone bye.

» Yuri Sucart said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 12:04:54 }

how bout the no call on salmons drive in OT? or on hinrichs putback when pierce blatantly hacked his arm? i agree there were a bunch of no calls on pierce as well but i didnt see the reffing biased one way or the other. just equally bad on both sides. nba has the worst officiating in sports.

your a fucking moron when you say we cant beat a aging team last i checked it was a 2-2 series meaning both teams have won 2 games each. Further more explanation because I know the math gets a little hard after four games, the Bulls have beaten the Celtics two games this series. Does that clear everything up for you pete?

» KuntFacePortnoy said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 01:04:16 }

Look, Pierce had a chance to seal games 1 and 4 by making 2 free throws. He made 1 of 2 each time, and that’s the difference between a sweep and 2-2.

» bjl110 said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 01:04:31 }

The fact of the matter is Pierce had plenty of chances to win both of the loses even besides the free throws…….and he couldn’t do it. The C’s better get their act together or you guys are going to end up blowing the series. I for one hope you win the series, because I want you to soften up the Magic for when the Cavs have to play them in the E. Finals. So tell your boy Paul “The Best Player In The World” Pierce to start making some more shots.

» Dave2k9 said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 01:04:12 }

Forget about whether it was a foul or not, the replays clearly showed Pierce was standing out of bounds when he touched the ball anyways. So it would have been Chicago’s ball and they inevitably inbounded and forced a foul eventually.

And as people have pointed out…if Pierce didn’t turn into Shaq at the free throw line in the clutch, none of this would matter. Stop blaming the refs and start blaming Paul Pierce’s historical lack of balls at the line in the 4th quarter and OT.

» Prickly Pete said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 01:04:16 }

Hey Cuthead — you don’t know the difference between “your” and “you’re” and you’re calling me a moron? or are you 10 and haven’t learned contractions yet? I know it’s 2-2, dickwad, but the Bulls aren’t winning this series. Mark it down.

» Southside_JRC said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 01:04:16 }

All you whiny bitches complaining about fans from other cities coming to a Boston website to complain…just think of it as the least we could do to return the favor when you Massholes come to our cities and make assfaces out of yourselves.

If the Celts were really that good, they would have stopped wasting their time against the Bulls and would have put them away in 4 so they could move on already. I was waiting for pres to post a blog like this after a Celtics loss; always gotta find an excuse to cover his ass and the fact that his team couldn’t get it done. Next blog i’m waiting for is a faux congratulatory one after the Celts lose the series. See: http://www.barstoolsports.com/randomthoughts/2008/10/19/mercy/

touche pete i cannot spell. but go fuck youself the bulls win in 7. Thanks for comin out! Gonna pull some Celtic Pride shit and kidnap Ray Allen for the rest of the series.

» skip said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 02:04:08 }

The celtics are going to pull out this series either way but I don’t understand the Garnett excuse….that’s what happens when you trade for a player that’s played in 1000 games….he gets hurt…if you had drafted him instead of stealing him from Minnesota I would understand the angle….but really doesn’t make much sense here….and let’s be honest with vinnie at the helm the bulls need all the cheating they can get…..

» cubsbullsbearshawks said: { Apr 27, 2009 - 03:04:52 }

wah wah wah. that was one of the most entertaining basketball games in recent nba playoffs history and you guys are sitting here complaining about hometown refs. dan crawford is one of the most respected nba refs (not to mention a crew chief as well, so he must have earned that somehow) and has appeared in every nba finals series in the past decade at least. they probably shouldn’t have had kennedy doing the game because of his history with doc, but who are we kidding? is there a ref in the entire league that the celtics haven’t complained about? you might as well just let them play pick up games and call their own fouls cuz they obviously can’t find a ref anywhere on the planet that’s ‘good enough’ to ref one of their games
